I got this basketball display case to showcase my autographed Julius “Dr. J” Erving basketball and I couldn't be happier with it. Although the case is elegant, it was easy to assemble. However, I hope that the glue that was supplied holds up. It has a smooth and glossy surface that reflects the light beautifully. The clear acrylic allows me to see the ball from all angles and the mirror adds a nice touch. It makes the ball look like it's floating in the air. The two-level riser keeps the ball in place and gives it some height. It also has a rubber ring around it to prevent scratches and dents. UV protection is a must-have feature to prevent fading and damage from sunlight. Also included in the packaging is a pair of white gloves to use during assembly. It protects the ball from harmful rays and preserves its color and quality. I highly recommend this product to anyone who wants to display their basketball or soccer memorabilia in style. It's worth every penny and more.

My daughter wanted a case like this to display her MVP ball so I thought I would give this one a try. I've never had one of these before so I didn't really know what to look for. This one is easy enough to assemble although the printed instructions are not good, so I watched the video via a QR code. After its assembled, they want you to put dabs of super glue on some of the side joints to hold it together. I was afraid it was going to make a mess and look like crap, so I opted not to use the glue. That being said, if you were to move this alot, I could see it coming apart. But since ours will stay in one place 99.99% of the time, it should be fine.

I like this case. I have a Southern Miss sign basketball so I wanted something to put it in. This case was easy enough to set up, they even include a set of gloves to make sure you don't get finger prints everywhere. You are supposed to use glue to keep everything in place but mine really won't move from the top shelf so I opted to leave it as it. The plastic used is pretty shiny so If you have a lot of light in the room get ready for that. At this price point I really don't see that as a deal breaker though.

I am repurposing this basketball display case to display a 2000 piece Lego Super Mario Question Mark Block. It fits perfectly with room to spare on the sides so it doesn't feel crowded. I like the mirror back to fully show-off the item from all angles. This acrylic display arrives in a flat box and needs to be assembled. White gloves are included so you don't get fingerprints over everything while assembling. The 4 side-panels fit into edge slots in the base. The fitted top panel "dry locks" everything in place allowing you to proceed to the next slightly tricky glue-up step. At this point, with the top in place, without glue everything holds together. If you take the top off without glueing, the 4 side-panels will fall apart. You have to use the glue unless you are super careful and don't intend on moving it, or taking the top off. I guess you can assemble the case with the item already placed inside to not use the glue, but I wouldn't do it. It's very risky.Glueing Step: There are two, vertical, 1-inch slots along each corner edge. Eight, vertical, 1-inch slots in total. Drip the glue, drop by drop, into these 8 corner edge slots while everything is fully assembled, with the top on (The top holds everything together while glueing). The glue is liquidity. Like crazy glue. It comes in a small tube that needs to be pierced with a pin. Two drops in each vertical "edge slot". Wait 30 mins or so to dry. Add a couple more drops in each vertical slot again to be sure it's nice and tight. And then you're done. DO NOT ADD GLUE TO THE TOP PANEL. Only the vertical corner edges of the side panels. There's a bit of learning curve. At first, it's tricky to drip glue into a vertical slot. But you get the hang of it after 3-4 drips. The glue dries completely clear.

I really wanted to like this display case but a few key elements makes me want to recommend you look elsewhere. Assembly should be pretty easy as this doesn't have that many parts. It has the base and 4 clear acrylic sheets, one mirrored acrylic sheet, adhesive, plastic standoffs and bolts. The main issues are as follows: 1) No instructions 2) Incorrect adhesive/cement 3) Cutouts and Tabs on the sheetsRegarding the lack of instructions, its not overly difficult to assemble this display case, but there should be a basic outline of what you need to do for those that aren't handy with tools or aren't comfortable building things. So if you aren't comfortable building something from Ikea, do not buy this. It will take some trial and error to figure our which sheet goes where, but the mirrored sheet is at the rear of the case, the top sheet only has cutouts, and the front, right and left sheets all have tabs. And that is the other problem I had with this case.If you look at higher end acrylic cases, all of them are cut to size with NO CUTOUTS and NO TABS. This is because when you assemble the case the first things you see are the cutouts, holes, drilling, tabs, or other manipulation. Its not aesthetically pleasing because you will see the cutouts and the tabs when fully built. You might not have an issue with it, but I'm not a fan and my other display cases are made of sheets without cutouts or holes.Another issue I outlined above is that they give you the wrong type of adhesive/cement for acrylic. This kit gives you superglue/cyanoacrylate. While it kind of works, it by no means is the ideal adhesive for plexiglass/acrylic applications like this. The case is very flimsy on its own and you cannot use it without adhesive as it will just fall over. You can get it to stand by itself but if someone touches it or pushes it, the case will collapse. So you have to use the cement on the top and sides. The glue they include works OK, but its messy, takes longer, and takes a lot more of it than the cement specifically for plastics which is butyrate based and a far cry from cyanoacrylate they give. I wish they just bit the bullet and included the butyrate based cement because it is very easy to use, requires much less, works quickly, and the end result is that the cemented sheets form a bond that is even stronger than the acrylic by itself. For that type of adhesive you just use a small amount and it will bond itself to the sheets through capillary action so just a few drops will be needed on the joints. Unfortunately, the adhesive included you have to use at least double the amount of the proper cement and because of that the end result is poor because you end up with puddles or small sections that you can clearly see where the adhesive was used. A weird side effect of using superglue as adhesive is that you will see fingerprints all over the acrylic sheets because the fumes interact with the oils from your fingers and they will be visible in the final product. Just google superglue and fingerprints for a more in-depth explanation. Anyway, look at other higher end acrylic display cases to see what I'm talking about in regards to the construction and aesthetics. You won't see the adhesive, you won't see cutouts and tabs, and all you will see is the case, unlike with this item.Maybe I'm nitpicking but when you are trying to showcase something the last thing you want to see are imperfections in the case that detracts from the object you are showing off. Its ok and I really wanted to like this case but after assembly I have to give it 3 mediocre stars.
