I recently purchased the **Asus TUF Gaming VG279QM 27” HDR Monitor**, and I have to say, it’s an absolute game-changer!### **Pros:**- **Super Smooth 280Hz Refresh Rate**: The 280Hz refresh rate makes gameplay incredibly smooth, especially for fast-paced shooters. If you're into competitive gaming, this is a must-have feature.- **1ms Response Time**: The 1ms response time is fantastic for reducing motion blur. Combined with the 280Hz, it creates an ultra-responsive and fluid experience.- **G-Sync Compatible**: The G-Sync compatibility eliminates screen tearing and stuttering. I’ve had zero issues with tearing, even in graphically intense games.- **ELMB Sync (Extreme Low Motion Blur)**: This feature works like a charm. It significantly reduces ghosting during fast-moving scenes, which is perfect for games like *Call of Duty* or *Apex Legends*.- **DisplayHDR 400**: The HDR support adds a nice touch of vibrancy to colors. Although it’s not the best HDR experience compared to higher-end monitors, it still enhances the overall visual quality.- **Full HD Resolution (1920x1080)**: For a 27-inch display, 1080p looks sharp, and it’s easier on the GPU for pushing higher frame rates.### **Cons:**- **HDR Performance**: The HDR400 is decent, but if you're looking for deep blacks and brighter highlights, you may want to consider higher HDR models. Still, it’s good for the price.- **Limited Adjustability**: While the stand is sturdy, the adjustability is somewhat limited in terms of height and tilt options.### **Verdict:**For competitive gamers who want **ultra-smooth performance**, the **Asus TUF VG279QM** is a fantastic choice. The combination of **280Hz, G-Sync**, and **ELMB Sync** makes it perfect for fast-paced games. The **HDR support** and **Full HD** resolution are solid, making this a versatile monitor for gaming and general use. Highly recommended for those looking to boost their gaming experience!

My brother needed a new monitor and decided on this one. He wanted a 27" monitor because his old monitors where always small (22 inch or smaller). We debated between the smaller version of this monitor and the 1440p version due to Pixel Per Inch (PPI) concerns. We are aware of the concerns some people have about the low PPI of 1080p resolution on a 27" monitor but I think it boils down to personal preference. I have a 1440p 27" monitor so my brother was able to see the difference between the two resolutions and he says he has no desire to switch to a 1440p monitor after seeing the difference.Games and Video look and play great, like really good, the only major difference we noticed between a 27" 1080p and a 27" 1440p monitor is with text (when browsing the web you can notice the lower PPI) but it's not at all bad, in fact things are easier to read on his monitor because text appears larger, he can lean back in his chair and still read everything. Text on a 1440p monitor does appear sharper because of the higher PPI but it also appears smaller. Our parents have poor vision and wear glasses, they prefer his monitor because they have a much easier time reading text on his monitor that they do on mine, so if you have vision problems this monitor might be an excellent choice. One other thing is that a 1440p monitor has a little more screen real estate than 1080p monitor. If you're the type of person who does a lot of multitasking and has alot of windows opened then the increased screen real estate of a 1440p monitor is nice. My brother mostly watches Netflix, plays games and surfs the web so increased screen real estate wasn't a concern, 1080p provides plenty for his needs. We also had to balance resolution with the performance of his computer. He has a GeForce 1070 but doesn't have the money to splurge on a new graphics card capable of supporting 1440p resolution at high frame rates. Games run really good at 1080p, and honestly they look great too, if he bought the 1440p version of this monitor his graphics card would struggle to achieve high frame rates in modern games and he wouldn't get to enjoy the performance this monitor is capable of.We spent about 1/2 hour playing around with all the different settings... saturation, blue levels, contrast, etc... trying to achieve the best look we could, then we decided to try the HDR setting in Windows 10 and WOW what a difference, everything looked amazing, so we kept the HDR setting on. My brother did find the monitor very bright, in fact he turned the HDR brightness setting in Windows down to 27 (out of 100) so it wasn't so hard on his eyes. He was coming from a low budget TN panel and he couldn't believe the difference an IPS panel can make, he said he noticed details in his games he never saw before, and the colors where so much more vibrant, a massive improvement. After using if for a few days he said he wants to keep it, he doesn't want to exchange it for the smaller version or the 1440p version. The lower PPI that some other people complain about isn't at all a concern for him. He is very happy with it and has no complaints.

4k would be better than this. This only supports 1080p. For this screen size, it's better to go with higher resolution. Will take a day to adjust your eyes, if you were previously using a MacBook with retina display. It's great for your eyes, really huge, I use it for coding, gaming, watching movies etcMade in China.
