I ordered several of these to use as sleeves over 4x4 desk posts. They add a ton of strength and are very sturdy. The steel is good and the powder coating looks ok, with just a few flat spots. Some of the corners arrived bent, but this is easily corrected with an engineers hammer. For the price, these are a great bargain compared to similar aluminum or even vinyl sleeves.

Like many other reviews, mine arrived with the top plate slightly bent due to shipping. I was able to straighten it out with pliers, but I do wish they would pack it better.

It looks nice, but I was surprised when I received the post to see that it doesn't go into the ground... it has screw holes in the bottom so that you can put a wooden post into the ground and then screw this cover over the wood post...The issue is that a 4x4 post wont fit into the square hole (too big). You could screw two 2x4's together and do that, but it's not going to fit snug and the post would wiggle any time you're opening the mailbox....I ended up buying a galvanized fence post and cemented that into the ground. Then I cut a hole into the middle top of this cover and filled in around the post with quick crete inside the cover. It ended up costing another 50ish bucks all said and done over the price of this cover to get it finished. Not easy, but lord help the teenager that tries to hit that mailbox with a bat! It isn't going anywhere! haha
