I already started seasoning , there are instructions on the box which makes it easy to follow. I googled the instructions on you tube, some said we dont need wet uncooked rice, dry would do . but the instructions on the box are very helpful.The product looks exactly like what it is described on Amazon. No scratch and no damage. It is supposed to be heavy. I have not used it for grinding real food yet but i am sure it would work well.

Ottimo rapporto qualità prezzo,ho fatto varie salse e battuti di verdure senza sforzo e alcun problema...All inizio cè da usarlo a vuoto per levigare la ruvidita cosi da evitare che si formi tanta polvere di granito...Dopo vari usi e raggiunto la superficie liscia la polvere non si forma quasi piu e risulta molto comodo l utilizzo per triti fini senza uso del coltello..Consigliato!

For months I’d been eyeing this beauty up but wouldn’t justify the expense when I already had two pestle and mortars but this one just sung to me. It’s heavy, it’s solid, it’s stunning. I cannot stress enough, the importance of “seasoning” your p&m WELL, BEFORE using it with food. Take your time with this part and your p&m will serve you well. I love to cook, especially with fresh herbs and spices but it was getting harder and harder to use my hands with my other p&m. (I have fibromyalgia and struggle with my hands) This one however, holds no prisoners. Because the pestle is rounded and because of the wide edges, it literally takes seconds to completely turn your ingredient to dust. There’s no “banging” your ingredients, just roll around and around using the whole mortar. I genuinely love this thing and because it’s so beautifully crafted, it cuts down time and that for me means less pain. I HIGHLY recommend this. It’s worth every.single.penny.
