Everything about this light is nice for it's size. It's bright but can be dimmed. You can adjust the White Balance in a mostly analogue way to get the color just right for being warm or cool or to match ambient light. And you can also do color adjustment to make it work like a light with colored gels. I have several camera flashes, strobes, colored gels, but they do not offer a constant, consistent light for things like video. Some have a modeling light but it's not the same.The only thing I don't like about it is also one of it's strengths. It's small...which is great! But it's also small...which means harsher light with highly contrasted shadows.In the photography world you end up learning that a large light source, further away, will create soft, even light and gentle shadows. While something smaller and closer will produce higher contrast and very defined lines between the light and dark. One would typically use a light modifier like a softbox or photography umbrella to diffuse the light source while making it cast a larger light with graduated shadows. It diminishes the output of the light but presents a gentler lit subject. I'll probably figure something out with my light modifiers to accomplish this.It's the physics of light itself and no fault of the product that is small enough to comfortably fit in your pocket or purse or camera bag. In a bind, if you had a white sheet, pillow case, cotton drying cloth, something white but allows light through, you could make your own modifier and no one will no unless you point the camera towards it :) And, because it is dimmable and has a slider wheel for setting your color temperature for white balance you could use this as a 'fill flash' type set up to enhance the ambient light you already have around your subject. Say, you're making a video and you put the sun to your back you could use this light gently to fill light back in on the subject.Photographers can be snooty...what matters is the image or video you produce and the gear can be crude or expensive but it's the outcome that matters. You can do a lot in a dreary basement or tiny bedroom with the right diffusion of light, a decent background, and a properly lit subject. I should have mentioned, I love that this is battery powered for places without power.I encourage you to learn your equipment, download a better camera app for your phone, upgrade gear as you can but don't limit yourself, and research lighting techniques from people like Rob Hall and create!I really like this product and would order it again, -M-

The battery is emitting a very strong sweet odor indicative of a damaged lithium battery. It smells sort of like a cherry air freshener.I've experienced this before with other electronics containing lithium batteries. It's unfortunate because this light really is fantastic.I assume the reason it is so discounted is because many of these units have damaged batteries or something.I'll update this review if anything changes or I get a replacement.

I own and love a lot of Ulanzi products, but I'm not completely sold on this.It's an okay light, but it feels kind of cheap. I have several of these lights in the same price range and they're all built better. I do think it will last for awhile if you take care of it.The battery life specs aren't impressive, but that hasn't been a problem for me. YMMV.I like the adjustable colors and temperature, but it would be nice if it had some effects.I think $20 would be a fair price for this.

First plaza is a good company for customer service they solve they’re issues emediatly but I’ve been promised promised by Amazon supervisors that they would do something to compensate on another order then when I called about not getting it I was told by another supervisor that they had lied to me and there is nothing I can do about it when a supervisor lies to you after that you cannot believe anything another associate is telling you and this has happened before with other supervisor same exact thing one lies says call back later or wait and call they’re lying to you do not believe them but ulanzi awesome company with awesome customer service they will do what they say they will do no questions asked that’s why I buy they’re products because if I have a problem they will fix it thank you ulanzi your awesome Amazon can kiss my ??? Ty ulanzi your a awesome company
