These are the only pins I use. I can sew over them without breaking my sewing machine needle, and I love that the glass heads are so small and come in 2 colors. They are very sturdy, despite the fact that they are thin. Many quilters use these as their go-to pins.

Here's why I love them...They are super thin so they don't leave holes in the fabric!!!!! I also appreciate the round heads which makes for easy pick up. Also, due to their thinness I sew over them----which you're NOT supposed to do but I've broken very few that way. One drawback, which I don't worry about is that because they are thin, they can bend easier that the regular pins. I LOVE their thinness!!

Will never go back with my other pins. They are sharp and have no problem sewing over them with my sewing machine. They are small and could be hard to pick up, but well worth using them.

These are the best brand and type of pins. They’re super sharp and o love the long length. Don’t waste your money on the cheaper pins that look similar. They’re awful and feel like your pinning through plastic. Buy the Clover brand instead. You won’t regret it.

The right tool for the job. Sometimes I need a sturdy, standard piecing pin, but frequently I need a flexible, thin pin that won't distort the fabric (sliding one side higher or lower than the other) when pinning. Thin pins are the best for that. I have some blue flower-headed pins that are thin; however, the plastic heads can bend/snap off and an melt if the iron touches them. These pins have glass heads which don't melt. They are flexible enough not to distort the fabric, are sharp and smooth enough to pierce the fabric effortlessly. The only downside I see is that they are shorter than the usual quilting pins. I would prefer a longer pin, but these are quite satisfactory, even when pinning matching seams in four-patches and similar patterns. They are not as durable as standard pins, BUT that makes them perfect for pinning without distortion. And, if used correctly, durability is not an issue.
