Purchased these after some extensive research into low cost brushes that were actually going to be better than entry level. These brushes certainly hit the mark. They drink up water without being overly wet, they pick up color like nothing else and the hairs leave a beautiful smooth stroke every time. The bristles are very soft once you get the factory fixative off of them. They hold their shapes rather well and I have not had any issue with splaying. These are great quality for not a lot of money and I have recommended them to several other watercolorists.My favorite are the cats tongue and sword liner brush.

This is a nice set of brushes, well worth the price! I mainly bought this set for the Cats Tongue brush, and the others in this set is just a bonus. An artist just cannot have too many brushes in their arsonal. I would recommend this set to others, I do not see a real down side to others with this item!

I bought the set to use for watercolor painting, and the brushes are a large size, good for large projects and washes. If you're painting greeting cards or small art projects, the liner brush is very good, but for fine detail, these brushes hold a lot of pigment.I think the overall size would also be comfortable in the hand of an elementary school age artist.On the back of the package you'll find instructions on how to begin with these brushes. They have a protective coating and arrived in good shape. I followed the directions and was painting in minutes. Highly recommend, they have soft bristles, are easily cleaned, and will be enjoyed for a long time.

I have one problem so far with the 9 round. Very loose at the barrel/brush. Otherwise I receive today and brushes are great to use.
