I hooked this up to the DVR, ran UTP Cat5e to the other model this company sells with BNC connectors (no cable) and hooked the cameras to that. Runs perfectly, no issues with quality or interruptions in signal for the last 30 days.I did try using Cat5e with RJ45 connectors I had laying around without any luck. I didn't have the time or desire to troubleshoot, so I can't say whether it's the this unit, the other unit or the cable for sure. Will update review if this fails before it should.

It's a simple product, but it solved my problem: I have a DVR in a secure area of my house, and I needed to install cameras in a separate section without setting up another DVR or using IP cameras. I prefer coaxial cable cameras because they're faster and don't require an IP network structure. With this device, I simply used a standard network cable to connect the 4 remote cameras without interference or connection loss, even over a distance of approximately 164 feet. Just remember to run an additional cable for 12V power if you want to connect the cameras to a UPS alongside your DVR.

Bought a pair of these as I had four cameras at the front of the property going to a DVR at the back.Does exactly what I needed, I was able to run two cables (a CAT5 for the video and one pair for power) which was much easier to pull through 25m of conduit with several bends than four power+video cables would have been.

Works great for running cameras to different floors of a building or long distances without having to pull multiple cables
