When my old grilling skillet finally started losing its non-stick surface and became unhealthy to use, I looked for a replacement. My old one was 11” x 11” and I could fit plenty of chicken breasts etc in the pan at one time. This advertises 11.5”. What you discover is that the pain is indeed 11.5” from rim to rim….but the sides are seriously flared outward, so the actual cooking surface below is only 7”x7”. 4.5” less cooking area than you expected is the difference of possibly 4 chicken breasts. That’s a lot! However, on the plus side, it is very well-made and very strong. Not sure about the nonstick surface or how long that will last before it starts to break down, as I had to return mine because of the unexpected small cooking area.

This skillet cooks great steaks, hamburgers and grilled vegetables. The grills are a little more difficult to clean, of course. But the coating on the pan makes cleaning easier, there is a nice uniform heating, and the food turns out so flavorful. So glad I bought this.

I'm obsessed with this pan! My burgers come out perfectly juicy and cooked every time. Was not that way with a regular pan. I plan to order another! If you clean your cast iron with chainmail scrubbers, it is not easy with this pan, but a brush works great.

I have only used this pan once since it's purchase it but I love how it worked. I grilled hot dogs in it and it worked great. It is a bit smaller then my last, nonstick, grill pan, but I can deal with the size. It's cast iron and the weight may be a problem for some but for the way it cooks I will deal with the weight. The clean up was a breeze. No soaking, once it cooled I used straight hot water from the tap and a bit of soap with a scrub brush.I was sure to dry it like my traditonal cast iron pans.Note to that the handles do get hot, you will need pot holders. This is my fourth Tramontina enamel coated cast Iron pan that I have purchased and I love them all thus far.The blue color is very pretty, but I was looking to find an off white one to match my off white stock pots. I wish more color choices were available. It is hard to tell that it has an enameled coating on the inside since has a rough texture and it's black, just have to take the word of the comapany. But it did clean up easily like my other pans with the white enamel inside.

Although I have some Tramontina stainless cookware, I didn't know what the expect when I bought this pan. I bought this cast iron pan because I couldn't afford the Le Creuset cookware, and needed a pan that would drain grease and leave grill marks. This is an excellent alternative. I love using it for bacon and sausages, because the press keeps them in better contact with the heat, and prevents curling. It's a VERY heavy pan and retains heat, and I have learned to turn off the heat before the food is done. There is enough residual heat to finish cooking.
