Right off I will say that our daughter, 9 years old, loved this wetsuit. She takes swimming lessons in a public pool that is very cold, and with this on, although not perfect, the heat retained made a big difference to her. The fit was great, pull zipper from the back that she could even pull up or down herself to zip.For a kids wetsuit, this is a great item and good value too. As she grows, I can imagine replacing this when needed with a larger version of the same item.

I spend a lot of time surfing in cold waters, wetsuits are a game changer. However, the most important factor is fit and I find it hard to get the right fit without trying a bunch on. These seem to run mostly true to size. The nice thing about kids wetsuits that are spring/ short sleeve is that they are much easier to get on. You do not want to be wrestling, a 3-year-old boy into a long sleeve wetsuit.Quality wise these will be durable, but let in some water which is what we call flushing. It's a trade-off. You have to make. You'll notice the stitch seems don't have glue or tape on them. That's fine as those wear out quickly. But on higher end/ performance wetsuits they provide better seals and keep you warmer and more flexible. However, they dont last very long so you're trading off durability.Please have the basic features you'd expect on a decent wetsuit, zipper flaps prevent some flushing. A nice long zipper leash, not the my kids will zip themselves up.On the downside, these have a lot of panels. You don't want that. Every time you have seam and you have the issues of leaking more water and potential durability issues.For the price and size/age bracket, these are decent. They've added a few weeks or even months to our beach season.

This is well made. The colors are as pictured. However, even letting it sit out of the plastic package it arrived in for 5 days, it still has a distinct odor of neoprene (slightly rubbery smell). I dislike that smell, but others may not even notice. We have another wetsuit that has no odor. The smell is when you have your nose in the 6 inch range of the wetsuit if that helps.I got the youth size 6 and it fit perfectly on a child size 7 slim. However, she complained the neck was too tight. Historically she doesn't like anything on her neck, so another child may not take issue. For the smell and the neck, I gave it .5 stars rating less, but rounded up.The sizing fit well everywhere, and the zipper is stellar. It is VERY well made. The shorts of the suit come just below mid-thigh. The entire suit is smooth to touch and got no complaints of anything being scratchy or poking.
