This is an industrial piece of kit, built to be rugged and reliable. The plastic housing is thick, with a strong pocket clip designed to keep the monitor in place while being active. The LCD is simple and easy to read, giving an accurate reading of CO levels in parts per million. NOISH says 35ppm is the safe threshold for CO gas, but I don’t have means to be that accurate for testing, although, the detector does come with a gas hood that can be used for testing in industrial applications. Placing it near my propane heater did prompt an almost immediate response from the monitor, with flashing lights, vibration, and a loud alarm. Battery life has been excellent so far, lasting all weekend on the ice, and providing me with peace of mind while sleeping. For my application, this CO detector is an excellent investment in personal safety.

Disclaimer to start with- I cannot review the accuracy of this unit as I have no way of testing that. With that aside, I was VERY impressed by this device. It comes in a nice plastic armor case- not Otterbox style tough so I wouldn't drive over it with a car, but very usable to keep it protected. Custom foam cutout in the box keeps it nicely arranged. It fits perfectly in the hand, and the menu system is pretty intuitive. Screen is nicely backlit and easy to read. The menu offers several options so this would be good as either a momentary sensor or a 'leave it in place for a while to get readings over time' detector (the battery lasts several days and it can take readings over time), making it a most versatile device. I also appreciate the excellent manual that goes over all the functionality in great detail. That also includes some user re-calibration pages, and some (password locked) technician re-calibration screens that an authorized service center can use to do a more detailed calibration. This is the sort of thing I'd expect on a more expensive instrument, so it's good to have something at a 'disposable consumer product' price that has that higher level of quality. With that all said, there were three things that didn't quite make sense to me. One was the included mounting bracket. The device has a clamp on the back that's not really a belt clip. The other thing in the box isn't a bracket, rather, it appears to cover the sensor (perhaps to hook up a tube of some kind). By my read it wasn't mentioned in the manual at all. Finally, the charging is MINI-USB- not micro-usb or usb-C. It includes a cable so this isn't really a big deal, but it's worth noting.Overall I'm quite happy with this device though.

A nice portable CO detector which comes in its own case. Does make it rather larger to carry around, but will protect it when not in use. Still even in the case it is very light, so won't weigh you down. The unit itself has both a clip and loop on it so easy to fix to clothing, or elsewhere, if necessary, perfect for work use where you need some protection to carry around with you.The detector is the fastest I've come across. I test CO detectors in the car exhaust until the alarm goes off, which gives a good indication of whether they are still working or not. Best for home detectors where the test button might test the alarm, but not necessarily the actual detector. Most home detectors take a good 30 seconds or more before they trigger. This alarm sounded within less than two seconds! I've never come across one that triggered so fast.Screen display shows the concentration (I have no way to test how accurate this is) along with having a number of other settings. When the alarm is triggered all of a flashing light, audible alarm and vibration are triggered, making sure you know it's dangerous and to get out of the area. The alarm itself isn't as loud and piercing as most home alarms, but very audible and much better designed for wearing and the industrial type use it is designed for.Only slight negative comment is that it uses a mini-USB cable to charge, which aren't so popular these days. A cable is included (and neatly fits in the case), but USB-C might have been a more preferable option. Other than that, very impressive unit.

This CO detector is made of a nice quality plastic that feels like it should last. It has a quality weight and nice matte look and feel to it. It's a nice case the device comes in, securely nestled in form fitted foam. The metal clip on the back is bit awkward to use, and just a simple spring clip would probably be better here. The start up time of the device is quick, and it goes through a self check of the lights, vibrate, and audible alarm on every boot up.The alarm sound is loud and distinctive to not be missed or ignored by anyone nearby, and the tone it makes is not harsh on the ears. The display is easy to read and interpret, and the setup menu is well laid out considering there's just a couple buttons they had to work with.I was able to get it to alarm at the default 50ppm by putting it near the top vent of a gas kitchen oven during warm up. The PPM readings steadily climbed, then retraced back to zero as I brought the detector close to the vent, then away from it. A good reminder to make sure the range hood fan is on and some fresh inlet air is available when running any gas appliance indoors.I placed it near the exhaust of an old natural gas dryer, and the open flu exhaust of an old natural gas water heater. Nothing was detected, which should be a good thing.I ran it for about 30 hours total, and the internal battery level still says 100%.It has an explosion proof number, though I didn't verify its authenticity. Not sure what certifications or calibrations are needed for professional job site use. It seems to detect, alarm, and be a solid device for me as a home user.
