I find it works fine for me in my electric percolator. It is small and other reviews say it’s too small, this would be true if you like very strong coffee or espresso.

Does not fit in the Colleti hopper because the filter is too tall. Also it's circumference is DISGRACEFULLY inadequate to have been suggested as an add on to a 12C perk. Very disappointed.Other than that it's great, I'm sure.

I use a perk always and had been using cut out napkin paper to filter inside the perk basket. This filter fits into the basket now and is a great pleasure to use. Not only does it work effectively,it allows for efficient use of the coffee. The straining value allows the hot water to really get atthe coffee grounds and adds I would speculate some 25% more coffee for the perk. Easy to clean, easy to dispose of old grounds, easy to add to and re-perk, wonderful. Hope it lasts for years asadvertised. Great price for a great product. Thanks Larry Perry

I have a Presto 02822, which is an unusually tiny 6-cup model percolator. I've looked and looked, and this is the nearest-sized permanent filter I could find. It works perfectly - not a single lost ground in the whole pot, and the coffee comes up darker than I've ever been able to achieve with paper filters. To get here, though, I had to make some modifications. If you also own a Presto 6-cup and can't find a permanent filter, I'll tell you what I did to make this one work. The filter's plastic upper rim was flared just a bit too much at the top and the stem was about half an inch too high. Using some sturdy scissors ("penny cutters"), I carefully clipped most of the rim off up top, leaving only a thin band of the brown plastic. I then used a pair of diagonal cutters to trim a half-inch off the stem. After that, it fit perfectly in the basket and performed excellently, as I mentioned earlier. To me, it was worth voiding the warranty to have this filter in place. The filter gets a full five stars from me for its performance, because it isn't Tops' fault that my percolator is odd-sized. If you can find a more suitable filter for the Presto 6-cup, you're a better shopper than me, but at least now you know that this one can be made to work.

I have the Farberware Yosemite 8 cup stove top percolator and have been using it and this filter for more than a month. Thus far, it's an excellent replacement for messy paper filter discs. Even better, it has done a flawless job of keeping coffee grounds out of the final brew. I noticed at least one review with a complaint about this filter not doing the job and I find that to be truly unbelievable. If you have a typical stove top percolator in the 10 cups or less range (and you know how to use it) then this filter is a no-brainer. I am not using any special grind of coffee nor do I have to run the metal percolator basket under water first. I get identical and flawless results with both coarse and fine bean grinds. Fill the filter with the appropriate amount of ground coffee, drop it into the percolator basket and cover with the basket cover. That's it. It cleans up in a snap, is as pure white as the day it arrived and is well-made for a very reasonable price.BREW TIP: I like a strong brew and have found a CUPS+2 formula works great. I use an ordinary teaspoon from my kitchen flatware. Example: if you fill the percolator with water up to the 6 cup mark then you would add 6+2 heaping teaspoons of ground coffee to the filter. That's 8 teaspoons for the math challenged. Subtract 1 or 2 teaspoons for a less hearty brew.FILLING TIP: The central cylinder on this filter is open at the top and bottom so that it can drop into a variety of percolator baskets. It resides in an already tight space and can make adding ground coffee to the filter a bit awkward. I avoid waste, odd teaspoon angling (and the cute, little counter mound that forms from the grinds that fall through the cylinder hole) with an ordinary marble. Use it to cover the cylinder hole, drop your ground coffee directly over it and remove the marble before you drop the filter into the percolator basket. It's bigger than the hole but small enough that it acts as a perfect dispersion tool for the grounds. A spherical bead or similar object works just as well.Happy brewing!
