I don't know if it's a code issue or what, but my older house has a few outlets which are a single feed into an outlet box from the breaker box that feeds one outlet in a room, then from that outlet, wiring goes in two different directions to feed the other outlets in the room. This means there are three sets of power wires coming into a single box that needs to connect to a single outlet for distribution.Traditional outlets have plenty of space behind them in the wall box to accommodate that many wires. The technology involved with these new USB outlets leaves much less space to work with. It's not impossible, just difficult. This isn't really a fault of this product, as other similar products also have a large size to them, but it is something to consider if your house wiring is the same as mine. That being said, these outlets work great for what they're intended for. They do provide childproof regular outlets, along with useable USB A and C outlets for charging devices. I'm not a big fan of clamp-type wire connections, but in this case they do make things a bit easier. Just make sure you get the 20-amp outlets if your house uses 12 gauge wires... even if the power feed is only on a 15 amp breaker. These outlets have two sets of clamp connections and one set of screw connections. If you have more than one 12 gauge set of wires coming into your wall box, you won't be able to use the 15-amp outlets. They are only configured for 14-gauge wire or smaller. You would need the 20-amp outlets to have wire holes big enough to feed a 12-gauge or smaller wire into.Other than the above issues, which are meant more as advice than a deterrent, these outlets work great. Once you manage to install and bend the wires in place in the wall box, they screw into the wall box as easily as any other brand, and fit standard rectangle cutout covers with ease. The result is a useful outlet for any of your conventional and device charging needs.
