This item is exactly what was needed and has been easy to wear and is very comfortable, as well as providing safety.

I have a quite small head for an adult. 22cm diameter, so I ordered a medium and it is much too small. Otherwise seems like a good product, but I didn’t try it on right away and didn’t get it returned on time. Ugh

First day of use, a strap broke at the connection point with the helmet.

This is a follow-up review. First review earned a five star, however, I may have been too premature. Within the second week of use, my third time wearing, it literally fell apart. Chin strap frayed and fell off. Several other areas of stitching came undone. And, rear fastener broke. I was able to get authorization for a replacement. This process required persistent follow-up for them to honour it.I am rating it as a five star again. The product is ideal for me, provides impact protection and sun protection without being heavy. I am hoping the first product was a one-time failure and that I get greater longevity from this one.Strangely this second purchase was $50 cheaper. Blue is 70 and black is 120, same retailer...I think??

I am a whitewater rafting guide, so when I saw what looked to be a much lower profile helmet I decided to give it a try. It is super light and looks like a full-structured baseball cap, it has some reflective material around the edges, and comes with a removable neck shield and face shield (with both installed it would provide excellent sun protection). The bump cap has some molded padding that provides a little cushioning and tiny bit of airflow, but the back of the bump cap is open just like a regular baseball cap, so it doesn’t really offer any protection for the back of the head. It has a full chinstrap that is plenty comfortable, and there is a little tab to attach it to a collar or PFD to keep it from getting blown away by the wind (not necessary if you’re using the chinstrap).I’m not quite sure what the best use scenario is for this type of a cap -- when you want the protection of a helmet I’d think you’d want an actual helmet, and as a hat it looks funny with the full chinstrap setup. Moreover, it is still almost as hot as a helmet, and since my head is a bit of a weird shape, this cap sits a bit high on my head (I custom shaped the padding on my whitewater helmet to get a good fit). I’m also not sure about the durability, the edges of the bump cap are already wearing through the headband stitching in one place. In the end, I think I’ll stick to my whitewater helmet for the river, but I think I might end up using this cap when I work under vehicles where the lower profile bump protection would be helpful. Your mileage may vary, it is an interesting concept.
