Best doorbell that doesnt require a battery.

So easy to use. Literally stick it on the front of your house and then plug the chimes in. Easy easy. Has worked great!

Set up was easy. Doorbell is very loud so my friend whom I bought it for can actually hear it, even when he is not wearing his hearing aids , as he is very hard of hearing.

This was easy to set up. I just stuck with the traditional "ding dong" doorbell sound, to appease the others, but personally I would have chosen the "Under The Sea" melody!The only thing I would add is a "press" or "push" sticker on the specific area that needs to be pressed.There is an icon of a bell, but is is ABOVE the area that needs to be pressed. Yes, I actually pressed that bell icon & nothing happened. I did use a label maker to print the word "press" & attached it to the area where it activated.The volume is perfect for my 93 year old mother to hear from her bedroom. One of the two receivers was placed in the hallway outside her room, whereas the other one is near the front door.

I had previously been driven to angry tears by missed packages, contractors, etc. because the batteries in my old battery operated doorbell receivers had died, and/or the unusual little battery in the transmitter. The primary reason I bought this set is the receivers "live" in their wall outlets, and the transmitter can be screwed or stuck on the doorframe; no batteries there, either! Yay!I bought the 1 transmitter (outside, the actual doorbell) and two receivers, one for the first floor and the other for the second floor, both are transmitted through the transmitter button outside the front door of the house. There are directions enclosed but the wording is somewhat choppy and confusing.I made repeated mistakes setting up the chime sound, and re-read the directions, and tried again. Did this a few times until I got the hang of it. If you are coding two receivers, unplug the first one after you have set the music. Then plug in the other and set it up. Now you can move them wherever you want. Of course, you could avoid this rigmarole if you stay with the pre-set Ding-Dong. I expect that's what my dad would have done if faced with this! But if you are buying one of these with many tunes, you'll probably want to go through them all, so your pets and family members will endure your experiments. Keep the volume lower while figuring things out.Once you find your tune, you press either the tune button or the volume button for 3 seconds and let up when you see it blinking. Then scurry outside to the transmitter -- you have 30 seconds before it gives up on you -- and push it and you should hear that tune and it is saved, apparently even after a power outage or being unplugged. What temporarily confused me was that when you are scrolling through the songs, the buttons are blinking anyway! Just make sure to hold one of them down for 3 seconds; I suggest the volume button so that you don't accidentally send it into the next song. I've heard that can happen.They do suggest plugging the receiver[s] into outlets that are at least 20 inches above the floor in order to get the best signal. I was able to do this because my house is weird, but I can see how it could be challenging if most of your outlets are in or near floorboards.It is good to be able to adjust the volume. I do wish the volume had more of a range, instead of pre-set 1, 2, and 3, but once you find what you like, you're good.There are two green buttons on the front that are the same color and right next to each other. Left side = volume, right side = door bell music samples. A little hard to tell where one button ends and the other begins. I'm comfortable with drills and screws, but I found the double-sided adhesive tape to be fine for securing the transmitter outside, and left it at that. When the tape degrades, it is easy enough to find another strip to take its place.I know this review looks like a lot of critiquing but I really like this product! I did want to point out what I experienced with setup. It might help you to know my mini-mistakes and get yours set up quicker! I'm so happy to have it, have tested it and now it's in place! Very pleased with this purchase. It's very modern and smart-looking, too.
