I ordered the new strings, but what I received are used ones. And I can’t contact the seller to get replacement, have to return.

Ordered two cello D strings. Both were not packaged properly, but seemed to be unused. Both were false and caused a horrible buzzing sound. Do not buy.

I regrettably snapped my D string tuning recently — the worst feeling. Of course the guitarists in my life were a little shocked when I told them the price of cello strings, but I think this is a fair price for a good string. I recently started using Thomastik after grabbing a set at Sweetwater. I’m not on the level that I can fork up cash for the highest quality strings because I’m a more casual musician, but I’m happy with this option. I plan to try more strings in the future and get a better opinion, but for now, I’m pleased with this purchase and just happy to be playing the cello again.

I really wish these strings weren't so painfully expensive, but in this case you really do get what you pay for. At least that's been the case with me -- cellos are individually different and what sounds great on mine may not sound so great on another. At any rate, after trying many different sets and combos, gut and steel, these strings are the ones that produce the most beautiful and powerful tones on my cello. The C and G are as powerful and strong as Spirocore tungstens, but smoother and without that famous "gravelly" and metallic sound that I never really liked. The A and D strings are the most beautiful I've ever had on my cello. The set did take a few days to "settle down" a little in my experience, but they're very balanced and sound great all the way up the fingerboard.

These cellar strings are full, and resident! They have beautiful tone and play easily!
