Mine doesn't, so either that is an inaccurate description, mine is faulty, or I just haven't figure it out. It is a pretty simple tool though. Also, there is some play/racking motion is the sliding piston. That motion doesn't easily allow me to pull this with one finger. If I had it clamped down I probably could, but otherwise I need to correct that racking with my thumb, and then slide it up with my finger. It is very easy at that point. It does make a nice crimp though. If I had to do a lot, I would choose a better tool, but for the few times I will use it, this will do just fine.

This is my go-to seller on Amazon and I love the consistent quality and stable pricing. Many other brands are trying hard to squeeze out money out of random sales, while established quality brands like this one deliver consistent pricing I can count on.

Used this backdrop for me and my brother’s sibling shoot. This backdrop served its purpose and it was amazing. The only hiccup was due to a white backdrop being sent first. The seller was amazing though and corrected the situation right away!
