Inexpensive and simple addition to a Seestar S50 to reduce lens fogging from dew. The S50 does have a dew heater, but having passive protection is a plus. Obviously, care must be taken when installing or removing the dew shield to avoid any damage to the drive mechanisms that position the telescope, but it slips into place with reasonable ease. It provides the same sized opening as the opening on the telescope, so you could install a filter or mask at on the dew shield just as you would directly on the telescope. The other issue that requires caution is to avoid accidentally trying to close the telescope arm when the dew shield is attached, which could also potentially damage the drive mechanism.

lots of dew in South Florida. This really does the job, have used for hours with no dew forming on the Seestar s50 lens. Great product.

Real tight, and forgot it was on the first time I used it, but no damage done!

We live in the 4th largest metro area in the US--light pollution is very bad. This shield does help contain stray light contamination of your images, but of course, does not reduce "sky glow". At least in my hands, so far, the Seestar S50 seemed to struggle a bit more to track/auto-guide with the shield on than when it was off. The 2nd magnitude stars probably restricts access to guide stars in the smaller field of view? Overall, it works and is worth the cost.

Just what the doctor ordered. The dew shield fits snugly to the opening for the telescope lens. Maybe a wee bit too snug, but stays in place and helps keep extraneous light from entering the picture. Worth the money.
