This first paragraph reviews the brass flats. I'm preparing an aluminum lower intake manifold for reinstallation. These small brass brushes do the trick where my larger brushes can't fit. I carefully scraped the bulk of old gasket material off with a razor blade, then removed the remaining by buffing it with these (and larger brass brushes). There's no doubt these things lose bristles, even at low speeds - but so do the Dremel branded brushes. Honestly, I'd be hard pressed to detect any difference. These brushes represent a fantastic value. The manifold looks near new for reinstallation.This paragraph reviews the carbon steel flats. I next prepared the gasket surfaces of the cylinder heads. Here, the gasket material seemed more difficult to remove than on the manifold itself. Again, I began by carefully using a razor blade, then removed excess oil by wiping down the surfaces with a rag dampened with brake cleaner. With my Dremel at low speed, I used the carbon flats to remove the remaining stubborn gasket material. The loss of wires was negligible - there is no doubt these are superior to the comparable Dremel product (with which I have extensive experience). Arrival was very quick and the brushes, used for cleaning coins, are perfect.
