Enjoy your journey, one perfect cup at a time with the Moccamaster Coffee Brewer.

Quality Requirements of ECBC:

All our coffee brewers meet the strict guidelines of the ‘European Coffee Brewer Centre’. These requirements are related to coffee brewing temperature, coffee-water saturation time and coffee holding temperature. A quote from ECBC encapsulates their guiding principle well: 'There’s no use buying a premium coffee only to destroy the results with an underperforming coffee brewer'.

Why Moccamaster

It's the only thing we make - coffeemakers

Technivorm manufacturers only authentic Moccamaster coffee brewers and grinders made with the highest quality parts available today. Our philosophy has always been to produce long lasting, reliable, energy efficient, and recyclable products.

All Moccamaster coffeemakers vary in options including separate elements for brewing and holding, volume capacity, brew-basket options, thermal or glass carafe, and housing style. In addition you are free to buy a varied choice of fresh roasted coffee - no pods or proprietary cups.

This should be the last coffee brewer you will ever buy, one that should last your lifetime, when cleaned and descaled properly. Since It's the first thing you look forward to in the morning, why not make it the best it can be.

I did lots of searching and review reading prior to this purchase. All coffee makers seem to have compromises and this one seemed to have ones I could live with. There are lots of pieces! Construction quality seems good except for the little plastic mat-thing that the pot sits on. Seems silly and poorly designed. The water reservoir is not removable so you pour water into it. The top over the reservoir just sits there. I'd love it if it fit in more definitively. Likewise for the cover on the filter cone. Speaking of the filter cone, you have to set the little slider on the side to "closed", 4-cup or 8-cup. To take the pot out from under the filter, you have to close the slider or the coffee continues to pour out. C'mon, even Mr. Coffee figured out mechanical stops for this a million years ago. It also seems to be a point of failure if you have to keep sliding a plastic mechanism between detents every pot of coffee. There is a switch to tell the maker that the pot is in place. Great, but you STILL have to close the little slide to prevent mess. There is a thermal carafe that seems to work IF you take the effort to unscrew the insert for making coffee and insert the thermal plug. The pot does not dribble when you pour. The machine makes good coffee. We've had to fiddle around with grind to get the taste just right but having a machine with good water temperature control really makes a difference.Just got it so we'll see how it holds up and how long it takes to lose any of the parts! Oh, it looks cool too.*****Addendum:So after using this for a week or two, well, good coffee but one additional irk. Folks, why did you make a filter holder that cannot be set down flat on the counter, huh? It doesn't have an automatic shutoff mechanism on the bottom, you close it manually, and yet is isn't flat. So when you take the cone out to fill it, and sit it on the counter, it friggin wobbles.

Pricey, beautiful and simple... it is a machine that makes a great cup of coffee. The carafe keeps the coffee hot for a couple of hours, when using the closed lid. The machine thoroughly wets the grounds and the coffee blooms beautifully. Honestly, the greatest bottleneck to your cup of coffee here is the quality of coffee you use and whether it is ground fresh or bought pre-ground. The reviews that found fault with this machine stopped me from buying it for over a year, but in retrospect that was quite silly. This is not an next generation, automated machine. It is a well built, simple machine that meets tight standards for coffee ground hydration and temperature. You can turn it on with everything ready to go and you will have a very decent cup of coffee in the morning. If you spend 3-4 minutes interacting with the process, you get the perfect cup. Love it, love it, love it. If you are a fan of great craftsmanship, consistency and speed (also coffee), pick up this machine if you can afford it.

Well designed, well built, and makes fantastic coffee. I bought this after previously owning traditional drip machines as well as the Tim Hortons home machine that has a heated water reservoir (eventually started leaking), and I would never go back to either.

I received the product as an Amazon Warehouse deals purchase. It was said to be in pristine original condition with just packaging damage. That was an absolutely accurate description. The product was/is perfect. I took it out, read the quick start guide and ran three pots of various types of coffee through it to see how it worked, how they tasted and if it had any issues. This was after I ran a pot of cold water only through the coffeemaker to clean it out.First thing I noticed was that yes, this coffeemaker has a bunch of "parts or pieces" to it. Yes, some are plastic. Yes it cost a small fortune but I'm not paying for the parts but the whole of the machine. I want good tasting coffee relatively quickly without a lot of hassle. I would like it to be well made and last a number of years and have a fairly decent warranty. It would also help if the machine had replacement parts that did not cost the price of the original machine. So this coffeemaker hit the mark for me on all of those desired items. Was I really going to shell out over $300 for a coffeemaker? um, well... maybe, I don't know. Ok, so I didn't do it. I waited until one showed up in Amazon Warehouse deals and took a chance. Good call. I saved over $65.00 and I feel it is absolutely worth the $200-250 price range. It is really very easy to use if you read the quick start guide or the manual first and make sure you understand what you are working with. Its not quite as intuitive as an Apple product, but close. Its simply a manual drip coffee machine. Many people forgot how they work, we are so accustomed to using the digital highly programmed ones. I grind my own beans (just purchased a new Baratza Encore and will review it next) and so the setting of a timer isn't an issue for me. I have three dogs that have to be tended to before I get any coffee anyhow. I digress. I much prefer fresh, great tasting coffee to convenience, but that's just me. Even with getting beans out, grinding them, filling the coffeemaker basket, get filtered water out of my frig, put the water in the machine and making sure the basket is set to the open position this entire process took at most 10 minutes. And the Moccamaster literally makes a full pot of coffee in under 6 minutes. I timed it. I timed it 3 times in a row and it was scary how fast and how close to 5 minutes and 30 seconds it was every time. And its HOT coffee. I did not preheat the thermal carafe and two hours later the coffee was still hot and had steam rising off it. The coffee I made was very tasty and I used both the white paper filters that came in the box with the machine and a gold filter. The taste did not change and the machine did not "overflow" due to the use of the gold filter.I'm sure everyone's experience is different but this is the single best drip coffeemaker I have ever used or owned. And I've had many, many coffee makers over the years.... If you have the cash, this is the machine to get for the best tasting coffee and the best warranty and replacement/repair parts.
