THE best coffee maker ever! Made BPA free and non toxic, because i dont want to have all of that toxic plastic in my body. Very quiet machine, and brews really fast within a few minutes. Coffee taste is superb :) I usually buy the Bunn coffee makers but i got tired of them leaking after a couple months. My last Bunn coffee maker, had a warming metal plate in the top of the lid that started rusting after sitting in the water just overnight from. the first day, and to think i had been drinking rust. That made me mad Iv'e read nothing but great reviews on this coffee machine, yes it's expensive. i figure it's better than buying a bunn coffee machine every year which are easily over $100.00 a piece. Buy it! You won't be disappointed, i promise. The only down side is that there is no auto brew to wake up to the coffee already brewed. The should work on making options like that. Other than that, an awesome machine. Very pleased

It does meet the hype as far as a superior cup of coffee, no doubt. However, the design, though sleek, isn’t as practical and easy to use as a Mr. coffee! The filter housing/funnel doesn’t easily drop in place, you have to jiggle it around to get it to seat properly. Then there’s a separate cover over that filter housing that has to slide between the rectangle hot water deliver arm hanging over the filter housing. Jiggle all that in place then put the top back on the water fill area…wait, get that in the correct orientation as there’s a cut out to allow the hot water delivery arm to fit through. At last put the decanter on the hot plate below the filter housing…better jiggle that a little too to ensure it’s seated on the hot plate. I just expect more for my money. I’m wondering if I shouldn’t order a replacement decanter now as the glass on that seems much thinner than Mr. Coffee makers. I’ll continue to rave about the wonderful coffee this machine brews…let’s get Apple engineers to make its operation seamless.

The product came damaged! It's a shame that after seeing so many reviews of this excellent product it comes this way. I gave myself the opportunity to make such a big expense and I am very disappointed.

This Technivorm model has been a great addition to our kitchen and brews a no-frills pot of coffee well. If you are looking for something that offers specialty features than this is most definitely not for you. The immediate pros are the aesthetics. It has a classic appearance with many color options. Also, it's fairly simple to operate and is basically "dummy" proof. The most important part is that it dispenses hot water from the arm at around 200 degrees which I confirmed and is said to be the ideal temperature it should be functioning at.The cons are the gap from the basket arm to the pot. There is very little room, so I often find myself scraping the lid or bottom of the pot. This isn't as bad as it sounds but it's fairly odd and could use another quarter of an inch gap spacing. I'd also like the coffee pot spout to be a bit more pronounced and the water reservoir to be a bit larger as well. Overall, I'm nitpicking and I'm very happy. I've owned OXO and a few Ninjas over the last 5+ years and they all leaked so badly that I ended up tossing them. Constantly cleaning up water on the device or counters is a dealbreaker. Finding a drip coffee maker that doesn't leak is far and away more difficult than I would have thought. This does not (so far) but I will add that the regular price seems a bit steep. This should be in the $250-$275 range which is what I purchased it for on BF. Unfortunately, there's a lot of plastic and it seems flimsy out of the box. I just don't see the price point being reasonable but maybe it is if all $200+ coffee makers I've tried have had issues. If this makes it beyond 5 years than I'll be very happy. There is a long history of satisfied customers, so I expect nothing less.

Easy to use, easy to clean and makes great hot coffee very rapidly. We enjoy the simplicity of the unit, it's all optimized to deliver great tasting hot coffee, so no need for various nobs that we would never use in any case. We also appreciate the absence of a clock which in many other coffee makers only servers to add un-needed light to the kitchen. We make coffee every morning for two (with 2 regular cups each) in under 5 minutes. For 4 or more people, you'll probably need to make two pots. A consideration if you need large volumes of coffee on a regular basis. The makers have put a lot of attention to many details to the coffee maker including reducing the noise it generates (although it make coffee very rapidly, this is the most quiet brewing machine that we have ever seen). The absence of styrofoam in the environmenally friendly packaging was also nice to see. Yes it is expensive but it's a great machine with a 5 year garantee that we have found is well worth the cost for a great cup of coffee.
