It took a while but I finally found a dog trash can with a lid that has a lip on it that hangs over the edge of the bin! My other expensive trash can that I have had for a few years, which has a rubber seal which is supposed to keep smells in and water out, doesn't keep the water out well due to warping plastic over time. So, if it rains there would be water at the bottom of the bin. I don't have that problem with this one.Other than that, quality seems good. Except for the inside bin handle, everything is plastic which means there's nothing to rust. Even the linkage for the step is plastic.

The products as well. However, unless you have one tiny dog that you’re going to use it for you’re going to need a much bigger trashcan. Or you’re going to be dumping this one constantly. Make sure to look at the specs on the size. It is made very well. And it does come with the replacement bags. Which is nice. But the size of it is so tiny. It will not work full-time for the dogs that we have.

This is a sturdy can, and the foot pedal has not froze up, so it's Water tight. Keeps the scent in well also.

I live in Florida where everything seems to rust. I therefore wanted a trash can for dog poop that wouldn’t rust. A plastic one seemed the way to go. I like the size of this one - not too big and not too small. The step peddle is a nice feature and works well. I have placed this under an awning in my back yard. We’ve had some strong thunderstorms since I got this - the outside of it got wet but not the inside. i like that it doesn’t have indentations on the lid where water can collect since that would attract mosquitoes. I have noticed a few bugs flying around when I open it up but I don’t know if they get inside when it’s closed or when I open it or they could be on the dog poop when I pick it up. My only objection to it is the price. It does seem expensive for a trash can but it works well for me.

This is the perfect size for large dogs. Most of the other brand poop bins are for tiny dogs and only hold one or two poops from a large dog that poops 2- 3 times per day. This is plenty large enough for us to empty once a week to take out with the rest of our trash. The lid stays down and has a lip to keep water out (which we had a problem with other brands making poop soup, gross!). The bin is pretty good at keeping smells in, and the type of plastic used doesn't seem to absorb smells which is really nice in this situation. The lid is decent at keeping bugs out, but inevitably some get in, so we added a stick on bug repellant thing on the inside of the lid that works great. We use poop bags and also the bag liner for the bin. The plastic liners it comes with aren't amazing, but they are decent enough, but I wouldn't trust them without poop bags for each poop. There is a removeable bin inside which makes emptying it and putting a new liner in easy.
