Okay, when I say they work, I have to qualify that. They work in a sense that both speakers emit sound and the mic pics up sound. That being said, the mp3 sound is full but a little tinny, like it's hooked up with 2 tin cans and a string, but it is loud. The mics performance is sub standard for my requirements. I put this setup on a pi 5 board with a camera and meta llama 3.2 1b instruct. The mic picks up sound, but the quality is intermittent and so the responses aren't always good. But for 17 bucks! I am impressed. If nothing else it helped me to test some scripts. However there is a little bit of debugging to make the right adjustments and use them in a script. At first I thought the mic did not work at all, but when I reviewed the settings in the alsamixer I found that the mic were set very low, so I increased the volume and got a few other variables to get better recordings which also helped with speech recognition. So for that reason, I'm giving it 5 stars.

Not very loud but the speakers work great. I use this on my raspberry pi. Can use the mic/line port at the same time as the speakers. No drivers needed. It just worked.

The description of these Speakers specifically calls out "Raspberry Pi", but really, I'm pretty sure any OS that supports USB audio can make use of them. I attached them to a laptop running Win-10 -- they worked fine. I attached them to a Mini-PC running an old version of CentOS-7 -- they worked fine. I do have a Raspberry Pi, and I intended to use them with that, but for now... I'd conclude they pretty much work with anything. One downside is that the thing you plug into the USB port is a little big. The USB ports on my Mini-PC are very close together and the dongle didn't fit when things were plugged into the other ports. Fortunately, they've included a stubby little USB extension cable that acts as a "Port Saver". It worked perfectly. The speaker cable comes fused up to a few inches from the speakers. I discovered that you can carefully separate the cable so that you can actually put the left and right speakers more than 2 inches apart.

I recently converted a Chromebox from ChromeOS to Windows and had no audio due to missing drivers. So I was looking around for a fix. I wanted a solution that didn’t take up much space. This kit perfectly solved my needs. The USB sound card works flawlessly and the included speakers sound great. They’re big enough for good sound while being small enough for me to integrate them into my project. Plus, I just find these types of speakers fascinating.
