This little car is pretty awesome, and being that I knew what I was getting I am very happy with the purchase. The ad here on Amazon however leaves little information for the purchaser if you don't already know the product. I'll try to help with that. The car is a RC model kit. As in, you have to build nearly every part of the car. You need some tools, mainly knives, razor blades, paint, small pliers help, and some screw drivers. The kit is essentially a Tamiya M-06 chassis with tires, wheels, motor, and speed controller, and a Tamiya VW bug clear lexan body. The body comes with the chrome bits as shown, and stickers for the window and body trim, however you have to paint the body yourself. The Tamiya M-06 chassis is their latest edition of their rear wheel drive RC racing chassis and can be setup to be quite fast. This is their basic starter kit which has mostly plastic parts, however there are extensive hop-up kits available where you can switch nearly every part out with aluminum if you have the desire and money. The car will be fast and perfectly functional as is though. What is particularly not clear with this add is what you'll need to finish the car. You will need to add to this purchase:- a 2 channel RC controller/transmitter. There are lot's of options available here on Amazon.- a 2 or 3 channel receiver. Typically comes with the controller.- a battery. Most any 7.2V RC battery with a standard connector will work. I found a 3,000 mAh battery that fits with room to spare and seems to be working well.- a standard steering servo.- a charger for your battery.- Paint (Look for paint that will work with Lexan plastic. Tamiya sells some)- Possibly a speed controller. I bought one that came with one, then a 2nd one more recently that did not.I did most of the build in a few evenings after work. Spent a couple of days after that with paint and air brushing the body and then assembling the chrome body parts and stickers. It may take some longer. I also added an LED light kit that plugs into the receiver and gives real looking brake, turn and headlights. You need to be creative and thoughtful to pull the lights off and make them look real (not LEDs poking through the body). I've also ordered some replica Porsche wheels that should be a bit narrower allowing me to drop the body super low. I've painted the body on mine as a sort of patina look and want it to look like it's riding low. That's part of the fun with this kit is the customizing. If you are looking for something to just open the box and drive then there are other fully assembled cars that will work fine for you. They will not have the cool potential this kit has, or be as fast, and will certainly not be customizable like this car is.------EDIT---I purchased a 2nd one of these cars to build and give away at a raffle. The 2nd one did not come with the speed controller. Still a great kit and a good deal.
