This is the most sturdy bass drum hoop mount I've used. Most mounts don't appear like they're engineered for the task but the appearance of this mount is well engineered. Adjustability is what you would expect. The inclusion of a memory lock is fantastic and unlike my other mounts. I fashioned a rubber gasket fastener (made from modified Ludwig lug gaskets taken of supraphonic snares) that keeps the bell wingnut tightly fastened to the post. The bass drum tends to loosen the cowbell wing it from the post, a problem that no mount has figure out. It performs well and is well made as all Tama hardware is.

I would for sure buy this again, and I like the way it protects the bass drum with a nice cushioned liner the way it clamps down. I also like how you can position whatever your attaching to where you want it, nice design. Very nice quality product from TAMA. Will see how it does after a few drum beatings :)

I just bought a brand spankin' new Recording Custom and at first there was no way I was going to attach a cowbell to that beautiful piano black hoop. I finally gave in after reading the reviews of this thing, praying it A) Wouldn't destroy my bass drum hoop and B) Would anchor that cowbell like it was part of the bass drum. I can happily and emphatically say that it does both with plenty of adjustment options. The memory lock is a welcome addition. Tama hardware is so well made and thought out. If you're looking to mount an accessory on your kick drum, look no further. Solid and safe. The chrome is high quality, no sharp edges, nice deep knurling on the mounting rod. Everything that turns is nice and smooth. Excellent product and worth the money.

I was worried about hoop damage. After a few weeks, I can confirm that this protects the hoop beautifully, while providing a rock solid mount for my cowbell.
