This is a high quality, sturdy, American made by Superior tool of Naperville, IL. I couldn’t find anything like it locally, including online in Home Depot or Lowe’s, so due to the high ratings, I bought it. I had a shower arm break off inside the copper elbow inside my wall. I tapped the Nipple Extractor into the broken off nipple inside the wall with a hammer firmly. I then put an 11/16 socket over it, and using a 1/2” ratchet , turned the tool counterclockwise, which allowed the tool to grip the broken nipple and allowed me to unscrew it in one piece out of the wall. I’m pretty good with tools and waited until Amazon delivered this tool, as trying other methods would surely not have been as easy and trouble free as this was. Superior tool saved me an expensive plumber visit !! Very glad I bought it.

I accidentally broke the shower arm pipe while trying to remove the shower head. The threaded portion of the pipe (the nipple) was embedded deep in wall. This tool worked and successfully removed the nipple with no damage to the threads of the wall pipe. There is one tip that turned out to be critical. I couldn't get the nipple out at first, because the pipe in the wall kept twisting. I realized that the pipe had two flanges with holes meant to secure the pipe, but whoever installed the pipe didn't put in screws. I put in two screws to secure the pipe to the wooden board behind it. Once the wall pipe was secured, the nipple came out within 30 seconds. I didn't need to tap the tool with a hammer. The tool slipped initially when I turned it but within a 1/4 of a turn, it engaged the nipple. I attached a picture of the nipple removed by the tool. I untwisted the nipple and the tool is undamaged. It is good to go to be used again. FYI, I picked this tool because it is long enough for reach the pipe in my wall. With the tool engaged, there was at least 1 inch of tool for me to grab with my wrench. Then I didn't have to worry about the wrench scratching the shower wall.
