A rubber crop, I'd never considered it.But the feel and weight of this are comfortable and reassuring.The grip is nicely contoured in the hand, and the keeper (slapper) is impressive!Full disclosure: I don't ride horses 8-OThis performs very nicely how I intend it, and when applied correctly, provides a bit more sound and sting than the more traditional crops I've used.Purchased at $19.99, and I find that quite reasonable. Even a genuine equestrian (I *had* to say that!) is likely to agree that is inexpensive in terms of riding gear.Highly recommend this, for however you intend to use it ;-)

Very good riding crop. Visually it appears to be a leather riding crop, bot when you hold it you can feel it is made from a rubberized material, which I feel is superior to leather as it is waterproof and has a non slip finish. I am very pleased with this product.
