Quality of paper too transparent- numbers of the other pages get seen on the page you are working on

This is about the best book I've found so far. It helps you improve your level of play. Great book.

I'm a huge sudoku fan and have bought (and finished) quite a few difficult sudoku books. In my mind, even the hardest books that I had seen previously (probably the NY Times Super Fiendish and Will Shortz's Terrifying Sudoku) were still not particularly hard. As a result, I wanted to find a book that would leave me stumped for hours. And I found it in "Sudoku Master Class"!I purchased both this book and Tom Sheldon's other book "Sudoku Genius" because he actually teaches you how to solve some of the more advanced puzzles. If you've solved a lot of sudoku puzzles, the actual strategies won't seem very new or surprising (and on some level, you've probably already used them on occasion), but he presents them very clearly. Now I use those strategies when dealing with hard puzzles. The biggest--and most appreciated--difference between his "Sudoku Genius" ("SG") and "Sudoku Master Class" ("SMC") books is that some "SG" puzzles require trailing. In other words, you must use trial and error to finish the puzzle. I've never been a fan of that, since it takes a lot of the logical analysis out. On the other hand, "SMC" specifically states that NO puzzles in the book require trailing.I've had the book for about two months and still have about ten puzzles unfinished, and this book has DEFINITELY kept me entertained and sometimes frustrated. So thank you, Tom Sheldon, and I look forward to your next book!

As someone who loved this author's "Sudoku Genius," and finally solved all puzzles in the book, I am finding this sequel hard going. Techniques like X-wing and (especially) swordfish are much easier on a computer than with paper and pencil. Still, the book helps much with progress in seeing these patterns, and I know I will improve as I slog through the more baffling grids. About half of the puzzles are solvable by meticulously applying normal advanced techniques. A special treat is the "study" section that gives one a hint to get past the "stuck" place. I found only one puzzle where the place I was stuck was not the place where the hint helped (my fault, I'm sure!).
