The hat was crushed a bit during shipping. The box showed the signs when delivered. The hat color is darker than expected. Unboxed and the hat crown was smashed. I almost stopped there, but when I unpacked the hat and pressed the hat into shape it returned to its full size. Without apparent damage!! OK it is crushable! I have a big noggin 24 inches. XL. Sometimes XXL. This hat fits perfectly. This was the first time in years I have had a perfect fit right out of the box. I am keeping this hat! It will be getting a lot of use this fall and winter. Thanks Stetson, I am not disappointed! Made in the USA . I will be proud to tell anyone who asks! “Small world Rt 66 Oklahoma.”

Muy bonito sombrero, es mi talla. Se nota que es de muy buena calidad. Lo que no me gustó es que se tardó muchísimo en llegar. Pero valió la pena la espera. Gracias.

Absolute Stetson quality! I have Six Stetsons and the quality is well worth what you pay for them. I wish they had this style in Grey as well. My Grandfather wore one these in Grey and it went missing after his death. Would love to replace it!

Top-notch quality and workmanship. Sizing/fitment was spot-on; keep in mind however that this "newer" version of the Open Road sits a bit higher on the head than the "old" version. The only thing I can think of that I feel Stetson should do differently with the Open Road, would be to make the medium brown version more widely available.

Absolutely excellent hat. Seriously. I'm not sure which I like better this or the Royal Deluxe one I bought previously. I am partial to the hard felt because I used to wear actual cowboy hats.The quality is top notch an while I was worried the stiffness would prevent me from wearing it with the front snapped down and the back snapped up this was not the case. In fact it holds this set up better than the deluxe.Now there are a few things to consider when choosing between the 6X and the royal deluxe:When driving the brim of the royal is soft so it will flex when contacting the headrest while the 6X will not.For me, both hats fit perfectly but the 6X has a more "sealed" effect on my head meaning it will stay on in a heavy wind. The royal stays on but is not "sealed" so I found myself having to hold it to my head a few times in heavy wind. That tightness may hurt folks heads so plan accordingly and remember that ymmv.I ordered the 6X in chocolate and the royal deluxe in caribou which is basically gray. I think these two colors give the wearer the greatest range of color coordinating flexibility. Another thing to consider is that certain colors are only available for a certain style (ex. Only the royal comes in Sage green)With all this mind rest easy knowing that you're getting a quality product.P.S. Hat did come in Stetson hat box and also people tend to call me cowboy while wearing this even though it's more of a cross between a traditional cowboy hat and a fedora.

Overall, I love this hat. I received it in 7 1/4" for Christmas and it was HUGE, so I ordered the 6 3/4 as a replacement - because well - the first hat was more than 1/2 inch too big. The second hat is a bit small, but I just stretched it. I really should have gone with the next size up, but I couldn't give the thing up a second time. I don't own any other Stetson hats. If I did I would probably know my size (assuming they're pretty uniform - as I would imagine based on reputation). My advice for others like me would be to go to a hat store and try on a Stetson to get an idea of your size. Once this hat arrives you will not want to have to return it. Trust me!
