Both SAE and Metric measurements are included, covering sizes like 8mm to 19mm and 5/16 inch to 3/4 inch, ensuring that I'm equipped for nearly any job that might come up. This diversity eliminates the need to scramble for the right tool size and adds to the convenience of the set. Although the set leans on the heavier side, this can be attributed to the sheer number of tools housed within and their robust construction, reaffirming the quality I experienced firsthand.The set's storage case is both a strength and an area that could benefit from further refinement. On the one hand, the case is solidly built, and the larger tools are held securely. I also found out that the importance of the protective foam piece cannot be understated. It plays a crucial role in keeping the smaller bits in their designated places. However, there's a catch: the set needs to be positioned flat with the logo text facing upwards. Turning the set upside down or neglecting to use the foam can result in the smaller bits falling out of their slots, which can lead to a bit of a mess.On the topic of quality, it's worth noting that the tools in the set feel premium. They not only look the part but also deliver in performance. However, there were moments when I discovered that some of the bits and wrenches had a bit of play, raising concerns about long-term wear and potential damage to screws or bolts. It's something to be cautious about during use.In summary, while the mechanics tool set has much to offer in terms of quality and variety, there are areas that could be improved, especially the case's design for holding the smaller bits. What’s in the box: one (1) 303-piece Mechanics SAE/Metric Professional Tool Set packaged in a rugged ABS form-fitted plastic case.First impressions: Comprehensive. Well-made with a nice black-chrome finish. They are made of heavy-duty forged chrome vanadium steel; it looks like this kit is built to last. This set is heavy, about 28.5 lbs! The tool assortment is very comprehensive containing an array of ratchet wrenches, thin flat wrenches, sockets, ratchets, Allen keys, nut-drivers, and screwdriver bits that would be commonly needed by a professional or weekend warrior alike. The entire kit is held in a rugged ABS form-fitted plastic case with front and side latches to make sure you don’t accidentally dump your entire set open!Overall I am very impressed with this kit, it is everything you may need to fix whatever it is that needs fixing. The quality is on par with any similar set sold by a big-box retailer. The sizes are nicely laser etched in gold lettering as well as stamped into the forging. The metric and imperial sizes are colour-coded on the sockets (Metric = Blue, SAE = Red). The ratchet wrenches have a 120-tooth gear which yields an impressive 3-degree throw and the socket ratchets have a 90-tooth gear which yields an impressive 4-degree throw; perfect for those really tight fasteners. The case will hold most of your tools securely but if you throw it around too hard, some will dislodge. The only criticism I have is that some of my tools were scratched from the factory; the black chrome was removed in places. I know tools are going to get used and scuffed but if the black finish won’t stay on, what’s the point of having it? Better to leave it regular chrome.Since I am evaluating this product as part of the Amazon Vine program, I am limited to a 30-day window to submit a review. Only time will tell on the durability and reliability of this product; therefore, I am going to monitor this product over the next 8-12 months of use and revise my review should problems arise.Cost-effectiveness and value: At a current price of $363.99 (plus a $36 off coupon), I feel that this is great value for the quality delivered. The price is not out of line for such a comprehensive kit.
