Sturdy. Used it in my Hackintosh project to cut out aluminum sections. Worked perfectly.

I have a "tool tote" that is kept stocked with general project tools - screwdrivers, Crescent wrenches, Vice-Grips, etc., the sort of collection used to handle general 'fixit' projects around the house.I wanted a tool that would fit in the tote, that was not so large it couldn't get out of it's own way, and that would be effective for those times that I needed to make a quick cut in perhaps a tight spot. The Stanley 15-809 mini hacksaw fills the order nicely. While primarily a metal blade, the included blade can be used (YMMV) to slice through PVC piping or wood molding - although the resulting cut may not be as smooth as you might like it to be. No fault of the blade, of course, if it's used to cut through material it wasn't designed to.However, for me most of the time I'll be satisfied with a rough cut; if I need a smooth cut then I'll retreat to the tool box for reinforcements. The convenience of having the hacksaw in my tool tote overrides the lack of smooth cuts on some materials. One caveat - there is no protection for the blade. If you, like I do, carry it in an open topped tool tote you're going to want to be careful sticking your hand into the tote. I wrapped my Stanley mini hacksaw in a shop towel and secured the towel with a rubber band. It ain't pretty, but it is effective. The mini saw is good for tight spaces, such as under sinks or inside cabinets and has a comfortable grip. Blade replacement is quite simple and blades are not difficult to find.Overall it's a tool that does what it says should do and in my case does some things it says it shouldn't do . Just the ticket for a non-specialized tool tote.HTHRegards,Jim

First of all, I wanna say that this saw got its job done, so I'm satisfied. Although it doesn't say it on the description, I was expecting this tool to be made in the USA. Why? Because that what it shows on the photo. So when I first received it, I gotta say I was some what disappointed. I just want to give heads up to those who's about to order this product thinking that it's made in the USA. That doesn't mean this isn't a great tool. I bought this to trim off my kid's bicycle kick stand. It took little time but wasn't hard to saw off the solid metal rod.Amazon just need to update their photos. And by the way this product is made in Taiwan. Same model as it describes and same model number.

I bought this specifically to remove a pair of small bolts that were interfering with some photo lighting equipment that I modified and a regular hack saw wouldn't work because of the limited space. Although I did look locally at first for this all I could find were some over priced plastic things. This saw is aluminum and very rigid and it worked like a charm. The price is also very good.
