I got this for an older scanner I own that has a long cord and no stand, so I was always knocking things over or getting things tangled with the cord whenever I picked it up. I wanted to be able to leave it in one place and scan one-handed. This is supposed to be a universal scanner stand but unfortunately this was not quite true in my case. Many of the older scanners were wider at the front, too wide to fit in this holder. The adjustable part of the top of this stand just changes the angle, not the size of the opening that the scanner head fits into. I suspect this works very well for most of the more modern handheld scanners, but for my old scanner, I had use it farther down the handle to get it to work, and that made it unstable. I may end up using it for a different scanner as it works well as a stable, sturdy, adjustable stand for most scanners.

This USB scanner cradle is an accessory that should be included if you do not have a current handheld scanner cradle with the purchase of that unit.As I used this cradle there are some pros and cons that I encountered that I was concerned about, but all in all for the price point I really cannot complain too much about this little cradle. Basically, a cradle is a cradle and if it does its job then it is worth the purchase.PROS: The Good Stuff1. The adjustments for the gimbles on this stand hold tight to help any scanner weight collapsing the stand.2. There is a vast adjustment capability of the stand.CONS: Things to Think About1. The base and mount are made of light plastic. I think this would have been better if it was a metal base at least.2. The Feet on the underside did not grip very well on two of my tables. Now, if this was a metal base think the feet would have held better due to the weight.3. I have 3 scanners and this unit only held one of the scanners OK.4. I think if the scanner holder was widened more, it would hold the other scanners OK.If you are looking for a lightweight stand, I would make sure it will fit your brand or type of scanner.

I work in a hospital with scanners, and there’s no scanner holder on my WoW! So constantly, the scanner was hitting the floor and I would be bending over to pick it up. I bought this product and the first day I was absolutely ecstatic not watched it my scanner hit the floor. Why did I wait so long to buy it?
