Not the most satisfying as the screw holes are not drilled well also the guitars can’t be raised very high like a normal stand. You will need to be very careful getting the guitars at bottom out as they will hit the top guitars. I would suggest that manufacturer make this unit taller for the guitars on the bottom.

I do some minor violin repairs. I've always got a bunch of violins hanging around. This can be a bit messy, and I dislike sorting through cases to find the one I want to work on. When I saw this product, I thought to give it a try. When it came in, I looked at the flat pack, and I knew there would be a lot of assembly and screws.I was right. This took me over an hour to build; while easy, it was awkward at times. The good news is that you don't really need many tools, if any. The bad news is that with the very basic instructions, you have to figure out a few things. For example, I had the rack constructed when I realized, upon performing the final step, that I needed to remove a stanchion and reposition it to the correct location because it had holes, and the one I had just installed did not. Small things like this can be frustrating when assembling something, and can easily be avoided with good instructions. Much like the build quality, the instructions were adequate, but they could have been better.Let's talk about the build quality. While the completed rack is very nice, fairly sturdy, and protects the instruments, I encountered a few defects as I built it. One was a welded nut that nearly broke free (see my picture). It worked, just barely. Fortunately, all that this holds is the level of the lower rack support. However, with just a little more tightening, I don't doubt the nut will break free. Also, a few of the threaded holes were poorly threaded, and it was difficult to install the screws. While I appreciated the tool-free thumb screws, the poorly threaded holes made me reach for adjustable pliers a few times. It wasn't a big deal, but like the poorly welded capture nut, it shouldn't have happened. Also, after I completed the assembly, I bumped into the folding top rack a few times, causing it to fold inadvertently. While I'd imagine they made this a folding unit for compactness, it could be problematic if you knock over the top rack while it is full of violins. I fixed this situation by installing zip ties on the folding legs and locking them in place.Besides that, this is a good storage solution for stringed instruments. Just beware that you'll be scratching your head a little during the construction phase, and a few things might need some creativity to fix.

Took about 45 minutes to build, instructions were fairly easy, and seems sturdy on first impression.

This stand is great as far as space and the number of guitars it holds. There are a few drawbacks.1. the peg bar that supports the neck of your guitar only goes to a 20" height. Yes the guitars do sit at a slant. BUT, where it fits electric body guitars with no problem, acoustics are hit & miss. It will fit a smaller body acoustic (like a parlor or classical size) BARELY. I however have ALOT of Dreadnaught and larger body acoustics. Some are VERY snug - like you have to SHOVE it up where the neck heel is wedged - I don't feel comfortable with that kind of pressure being put on the body of the guitar. And a couple, like my Fender T-Bucket would just NOT fit at all.SUGGESTION TO MFG: MAKE THOSE HEIGHT EXTENSION TUBES LONGER - SAY LIKE 26" INSTEAD OF ONLY 20" MAXIUM.2. I ordered TWO of these (yes, I have LOTS of guitars!). Amazon was nice enough to rebox the original two individual boxes into one GIANT box. I opened the first box to assemble it - THERE WERE NO INSTRUCTIONS INCLUDED! So before I called Amazon to complain - I decided to check the 2nd box. YES- there were instructions inside that box. However the instructions are CRAP. They are not clear - parts are not labeled so the side support bars that have holes in them to mount the cross bar - if you aren't careful, you will install them in the wrong place or facing the wrong direction and then have to disassemble what you did in order to switch them around. The tubes that connect to the base are the same way. Furthermore, the parts bag - the pieces are NOT separated into individual bags. There are 34 of those long "thumb screws" that are 1-1/2-2" length, and only four that are like 1" long specifically for the height adjustment tubes, along with the base feet, and wingnut screws. Took me FOREVER to sort it all out - and that combined with my cat thinking it was a bag of new toys. He kept stealing my Thumb screws and running off with them while I was trying to sort and count pieces. And all pieces in the box are wrapped/sealed in plastic so they don't scratch - however the other cats like to chew on and try to eat it - so between chasing one cat to recover my parts, and the other two from trying to eat all the plastic wrapping, it took me over 2 hours to assemble each rack... I started at 4 pm, and didn't finish until 8 pm.3. It was ALOT OF ASSEMBLY! I even had to screw on EACH neck support peg into the cross bars (most racks come with these preinstalled). And with the instructions being SO vague it was alot of assembly - disassembly - reassembly.. Example - the uprights that hold the neck support bar. The illustrations do not show 2-D which way the tab with the screw holes should be on (pointing INWARD or OUTWARD).4. The only MAJOR problem I had is that ONE screw hole on the base support where you screw in one of the foam support bars - the hole was too small and the thumb screw would not go in. When I tried to SLIGHTLY widen it, then it would not bite down... just wobbled and slid in/out. I finally figured that after ALL of this, and for that specific part, its not something I would remove, even if I needed to move/store it. So I just super glued the heck out of it (there is a lipped channel that the square tube sits in on the base. I glued it on the bottom, let it dry... then put some glue on each side of the tube where it sits in the lipped bracket - twice. That thing is NOT coming off - so yes, super glue will adhere and bond with the metal (I have tried to glue small stuff on other guitar racks that is cheap pot-metal and it will not bond)Over all - once I got it assembled, I am pleased with the racks. Going from two 9-guitar racks to these gave me room for an extra 10 guitars (I can get them OFF individual floor stands, and clear up floor space and get them out of my living room and guest bedroom). I wish it was taller and held the guitars more upright (like the 9-guitar rack). As it is, inserting and removing guitars from the bottom rack - you have to pull the guitar from the bottom, and as you pull it out, go completely horizontal with it, or you will hit the headstock on the upper rack AND guitars on the upper rack. So put your favorites and daily player guitars on the TOP rack!

It looks like a lot of pieces, but it's really no to hard to assemble. It does make a great double rack guitar stand. I couldn't help but notice when I looked at the Brand sore site" this exact unit is also marketed as double rack gun rack. Go figure!
