I broke my ankle a few months ago. I could not use any socks after the inflamation decrease. I got this socks and they were so helpful. They are comfortable. I have thin legs and they stayed well. I was able to sleep with them because it is cold where I live. If you have bigger calves these socks can work too, they seem to stretch a lot.

These socks are exactly what I needed with my foot surgery to wear under my boot. They're long, and quite comfortable around the calf and go all the way up to the knee. They hold up well during a wash and dry cycle. They're very soft and cool enough so that your feet do not sweat.

I really like these socks! I brokemy tibila and fibila in 4 places and dislocated my ankle. All getting out of my truck. Ice in the parking lot. I didn't know I could get hurt that bad, just from slipping on ice.The orto sent me home with a cut piece of tube gauze that didn't even cover my toes. The parts of my skin that touched my boot would stick to it after a little while, and it drove me crazy. I tried putting regular socks on but they are too tight. The top of my foot a ankle a still swollen pretty bad. These socks are very stretchy and made it easy to get over my foot. They also feel protective, just the right amount of elastic pressure. The work amazing for my protective walking boot, even though I can't put weight on my ankle for another month. Don't listen to the people about durability, they are amazing. I did find that the velcro from the boot sticks really good to the sock and when it does, it is hard to get off. I believe this is where the people are getting holes in there socks. But that trade off, I will take any day. Just be careful taking the boot on and off, keeping the velcro away from the sock and you will not find a better sock for post ankle surgery. I also like they are made from natural materials!!!I hope this helps people looking, because it has helped me a lot!Tony

The only negative is that the fabric wears quickly. The photo was taken after wearing in the boot for two days. Granted, no one but the one wearing the boot is going to notice this. The fabric feels good. The sock covers the full length of an XcelTrax size large walking boot.
