This is easy to use and the setup on a Windows computer was so easy I thought I missed something. I plugged it in and started a Zoom meeting. The mic mute button immediately toggled my mic mute status as did the video mute button. These physical buttons just toggle the current status from muted to unmuted, so you can still use other methods (keystrokes or mouse clicks) and these buttons will just pick up where you left off, which can be nice.I wish there were some lights on this unit to indicate the status (muted or unmuted). Also the icons and writing on it are just engraved, no additional colors, so it's difficult to see at a quick glance which button you're pressing (Mic or Camera). I'm sure the muscle memory will just come with time.I also wish there was a way to program this device to be used with other conferencing apps. I was able to set up Discord to use this by giving discord this key binding to toggle mute. I tried to set it up as a "press to mute" key so I could momentarily mute if I had to cough or sneeze, but this device sends an immediate signal and doesn't allow for press and hold.The final downside is that the app you want to use it with needs to be in the foreground. So if I'm in a Zoom call and have tabbed away to to take notes or check email, the button presses don't do anything in Zoom until I make Zoom the main foreground window.

The device is nice, feels premium, and with Zoom, functions as intended so long as you have the app focused.That's the the problem, though, as it doesn't do what you expect it would. For anyone that wants a button that mutes or turns off video at the touch of a button, it's not going to do that, unless you have Zoom focused in the foreground, which pretty much defeats the purpose of this device. If you're someone in a meeting and you're doing things requiring they're focused and can't be bothered to switch back to Zoom, you can't even do that with a global hotkey using your keyboard let alone this device, without some hackery of your OS.So what does this do then? Simply put, it's just a very simple keyboard that does a macro input for Zoom specific keyboard combinations. On Mac, it's Command+Shift+A for the mic and Command+Shift+V for the video. On windows, just subsitute control for command in the above. The device is locked to these macro combos with no way to edit. If that's hard programmed into the firmware, then honestly, this is just a brick of a device and has no real use.However, if a simple application allows you to adjust the macros within it, you could customize it do anything for any application if you know what you're doing. Unfortunately, it's just not that and you should avoid this. It's not what you think it is.

Well, this is an interesting little thing. Let's start by its operation; this is fundamentally a USB keyboard with two keys. One key presses Alt+A, the other Alt+V. This means it needs no drivers or extra software, so will work even on computers that are relatively locked down in a professional environment.Unfortunately, that means it has some drawbacks; it will only work when Zoom is in the foreground - if you're taking notes or checking email it will just send those keystrokes to the application you're using.This also means that the device has no awareness of your mute or camera status; each keypress will be sent through blindly and just toggle the software. So this isn't as useful as more complicated solutions that have software that integrates them with Zoom.There also isn't any way to change these bindings, as far as I can tell.Physically, the switch is well built; the buttons have very little travel but have a positive audible click to them. It looks very professional and fits in well in a serious work environment. It's also weighted nicely with a grippy silicone base and doesn't slide around easily.So, overall, a very simple device that's solidly build and cleanly designed. If it fits your needs, I would recommend it, but for my own uses, I would prefer something more aware of the software; the possibility of hitting mute quickly without realizing I'm in an email window and my mic remaining open during an embarrassing moment is a little too high.

Pros:I like the fact that it can stop video as well as audio. It's very nicely designed and looks good on the desk.Cons:It didn't detect the device right off the bat on my Mac. Only seems to work if plugged in directly to the computer and not if plugged into a hub. It also appears that it doesn't work unless you are focused on the Zoom/Teams/etc meeting application. I was looking for something that would allow me to switch screens to another application with Zoom meeting going in the background, allowing me to unmute without having to find the Zoom app before unmuting. This doesn't seem to do that.
