L'ho ricevuto in tempi stabiliti ma difettoso: manca un piedino dei quattro sottostanti per poter essere appoggiato a terra!

It is protective, yet not bulky....just what we needed

Nice aesthetic, but just functionality. Poor quality buckles that support straps to get back the cello. Nothing else take the case to put it in the back, two locks are broken leaving the useless founded as a backpack and can only use it as a suitcase. Not what I expected, I had to buy 2 new harnesses to use funa backpack ...

qualità ottima, descritto come custodia morbida ma in realtà da considerarsi rigida.Custodia non pesante e grande sicurezza per lo strumento.

For context, I've had a full hard case and a gig bag. The hard case had good protection, but the metal edging can be fragile, it was bulky, somewhat heavy, and not practical for everyday use. Mainly, it didn't hold many extras. This meant that rosin, tuner, metronome, etc. had to be carried separately. The gig bag was great, held all my odds and ends, and was lightweight. But, it didn't give much protection. And if you've ever had a couple pegs knocked loose, you know what a pain it can be.Enter the SKB "Soft" case. I am cheap by nature, and hesitant to buy anything instrument-related on the internet. However, the lack of case selection in my area encouraged me to shop on line. I e-mailed SKB and they were extremely helpful in answering all my questions. Finally, I ordered the soft case through Amazon. I first received the Deluxe case which, besides being more expensive, wasn't what I wanted. A quick return later (I had the replacement the day after UPS came to pick up the Deluxe), I got the Soft Case. Having had the chance to handle both cases in my home, I have to say, I really prefer the soft case irregardless of price.First off, I noted the construction. One of the questions I asked the SKB rep was the not-soft thing. When I got it, it all became crystal clear. The shell is soft, but it has a hard "endo-skeleton." In my humble opinion, it gives the same - or better - protection as my hard case. So, when you look at this, don't think gig bag. Think soft shelled hard case. Moving along... It appears sturdily built. The seams are straight, heavily stitched, and the panels reinforced with screw rivets. The material itself if a heavy ballistic nylon (or so it appears). Next, the fit. The fit is great. Popped my cello in and it fit like a glove. It wasn't tight, but snug and held firmly in place. Finally, storage. There is the standard two bow loops on the lid, and plainly visible pouch on the outside behind the neck. But, there is also an internal compartment under the neck support. It comes holding the shoulder straps. However, you could still throw a few things in there, or simply repurpose it to hold your rosin, tuner, etc.A couple notes on the design: one of the advantages of the nylon shell over hard shell is that it doesn't scratch as easily. Also, it closes with a zipper, versus lining up a hard edge (much easier). Also, there are two buckles and a velcro flap that could be used in place of, or supporting, the zipper. I placed the zipper pulls under the flap, but I'm kind of weird like that.If I had a complaint, it would be the lack of storage for sheet music. There is no place on this bag (that I am aware of) in which to place your music. I view this as a pretty huge oversight. I know many players play from memory, but my memory is horrible and I wouldn't be able to play twinkle, twinkle without sheet music. For as well thought out as this case is, I just can't believe there isn't a sheet music pouch anywhere. And in case you were wondering, it doesn't have wheels, but its pretty light so I don't see that as a real issue. All things considered, this case is amazing. I have a hard time spending the $800+ for a BAM or equivalent. Then again, after getting the SBK, I don't know if I would. The protection is great, its light, convenient, stores my odds and ends, and costs less than $200. At this price, I wish I had gotten this years ago. No matter what kind of case you are considering, I'd recommend considering the SKB "soft" case. Its priced closer to gig bags, but protects like a hard case. If only there was a music pouch... the reason it got 4 stars instead of 5).
