For sure you can oversaturate the mic. But, music in a very loud venue that was recording mush with the internal phone mic was much improved. This mic oversaturates about the time you're looking at the sound guy admitting that you might just be too old.

An excellent microphone and with the software can approach broadcast quality depending upon your smart phone abilities. The sound isolation earphones for monitoring are very impressive and probably part of the overall cost. I'm not a fan of the roll-up storage pouch as it is rather bulky and doesn't protect much. Taking the mic clip off and on to store in the pouch is something that I can do without.Might I suggest this hard case on Amazon which perfectly fits the mic with the clip attached and the connection cable for a smart phone. Much better protection and it doesn't deform the windscreen when closed. I did the work for you finding a case so enjoy!https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09QX4SQY6?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details&th=1

This kit is impressive and overall a great value considering what you get. The tripod and headphones that come with it make it worth the price. The materials are all very solid and seem extremely durable. Some bits are a bit plasticky but don't feel overly cheap. The headphones are a bit annoying getting them to fit properly but once you figure out the method to allow them to set comfortably in your ear they're great for monitoring your sound levels. The removable windscreen is also a plus. The biggest downside I found is the phone grip can be a little loose feeling with the case I have on my iPhone. Never felt as snug and secure as I would prefer. The audio quality is pretty impressive for the size of the mic itself. The companion app is helpful as well and comes with many presets to fine tune your recording needs. You can always do more in post, but the app allows for some simple profiles that don't require much tinkering. The biggest downside is the fact this device still uses Micro USB which is beyond comprehension in today's day and age. The cables that come with the set are quite short so that will limit your use cases. Highly recommend picking up a cable matters cable with more length to make this more versatile. Overall I am happy with the kit and the quality of the audio captured by this mic.

Before using this for event (FB) live-streams, (specifically a small church. The pastor and altar servers do not have amplification.) So before using this, the audio, especially one speaking, was not load enough. Now the audio is fantastic! It is loud enough, it is clearer. faint passages are loader. Load sources, such as the organ playing, are not way too loud. The compression works great. We have compression and gain set to the highest setting. To charge (power) your iPhone while this device is in use you will need the Apple lightning to USB 3 Camera Adapter. Set your settings for teh mic first (it remembers them). Then plug the mic into the adapter (use the included (?) cable, plugs into the USB connection side). And plug the charger into the lightening input side of the adapter.

I mostly used for singing every day. It worked well for sound quality even online. I haven't tried outside record yet.it's very convenient. I bought one month ago. A little expensive.
