Happy to have more batteries and the prices are getting more reasonable all the time. Just one thing here these batteries are for Dewalt and yet they chose to use red on the release button which is we all know is a Milwaukee color. Additionally since heat is the enemy of batteries I'm always wondering why they're making the case out of black plastic

I actually have several generic batteries for DeWalt and these are definitely generic. Other than the company name, there is nothing to determine a model number or a serial number. They do say that they replace the DCB204 (4 Ah).I tested both batteries in the DeWalt heat gun and they lasted as long as I would expect from a 4 AH battery. The power indicator went from three lights to 1 light. It never stopped at 2 lights. They charged in the time expected. Overall, this is a good set of generic batteries.

Skeptical of third party batteries? When the capacity is often more suggestive rather than absolute, one should be. Advertised with 4Ah, these were put to the test. Fresh off an original 2-stage DCB-1104, 4 amp load, 16.5V cutoff (3.3V per cell = 5% capacity), the results were 2,664 and 2,654 mAh for the two batteries. Divided through, that's 2,804 and 2,794 mAh of capacity. Realistically, these are 2.8Ah batteries, not 4.0Ah. At 70% of advertised, that's not a good grade, though this is (sadly) less egregious than some I've encountered before.A better comparison would be against a stock 3Ah battery, both in capacity and price. The value proposition wins on this -- 93% of the capacity for roughly 60% of the price. Physical construction appears fine, though as a quick reference to which brand these are intended for, use of yellow would have been preferable instead of a red release button. If one can ignore the label and treat these as an alternative to the 3Ah batteries, then it's something to consider. Barring any reliability and durability issues, 4 stars.

there's a couple ways to look at battery capacity - either you get within 10% of your advertised specification, or you lower the specification and win on price/capacity.I measure these batteries at around 3000mAh. I tested both, and also tested one 4 times since they suggest you discharge/recharge fully 3 times. The added discharge/recharge cycles made no significant difference.when testing with a constant current draw at 10% of capacity, my experience is the dewalt batteries measure 5-10% below their specification, so that's the baseline I'm comparing to. In actual use without a constant current draw, the battery may perform a little better.as shown in the picture, these batteries are 25% below their specification. which is a big enough difference to lose a star. Note the start time was 20:00, so the battery stayed above 15V for 7 hours, 20 minutes.from a price/capacity perspective, there's better options available - even if you assume they are over-rated 25%+, so no win there either.however, these do the job and are better value than dewalt batteries. Had these been specified as 3Ah, I'd be rating them 4-5 stars.

This battery delivers identical capacity to my original Dewalt 20V packs at half the price. I've used it with my drill, circular saw, and impact driver - perfect fit and consistent power output. The build quality feels rugged, and it charges normally with DeWalt chargers. A no-brainer for DIYers wanting to save money without compromising quality.
