All in all, I'm happy with my purchase. However, I think expectations should be reasoned. I know, because of the marketing used by this product, one might expect a beautifully perfect handcrafted hammer. And while it does look nice and is made well, there are some flaws in the mix.The first hammer I received had a crack going right through the head of the hammer. It wouldn't have taken much use before that crack eventually split the hammerhead in two. I was disappointed they even allowed that unit to leave their shop. That should have been caught before it was packaged and shipped. And the crack was large enough to lead me to believe it did not just develop during shipping.I requested the cracked unit be replaced, which Amazon did immediately. The second hammer was crack free, however it wasn't made to quite the same standards, and the hammer head would freely fly off the handle when swung/struck. I considered requesting another replacement. But figured this was an easy fix. So I put a couple steel wedges into the spindel of the hammer so it swells the spindel inside the hammerhead and locks the two tightly together (a standard fix for hammers/axes). I have had no issues with the hammer after that.So it did take a little repair work from me, but it's a tool, and if you're going to use tools, you should be able to handle a simple fix like this.When keeping the price in mind, I still consider this a good buy. Sure, it had some small flaws, but they were easily remedied. And aside from those few small failings, the hammer does seem to be made very well by someone who cares about their craft. The hammer is not only functional, it looks nice as well.So I'm happy with this purchase and would make it again if needed.

a perfect hammer. seems sturdy even though made of wood looks like it will last!!!
