I like the tire and have had several ... two things are wrong..1 they should not be folded when shipped.. 2 they are not a perfect 26 inch.. they are a little too small they dont fit the rim ... the bead wont set right... only after you use them for a while after they stretch a little with high air pressure can you make it seat all the way around the rim... that has been the same story with each set I have had...even on different rims I have used...a shame..not a perfect 26 inch

Pros: Thick Center CasingCons: Tight BeadI wasn't expecting much from a $40 tire, but these are absolutely worth it. The center casing and tread feels like it is well over 1/8" thick. No thorns are going through that! The tread also has terrific bite to it, with an excellent mud clearing design.I installed this on the rear of my 26" hardtail, along with a Tannus Armour kit, and it feels absolutely bulletproof to punctures now. No need for sealant with that setup. Fair warning however: As hard as it was to install this tire without the insert, it was next to impossible to get the tire on with the Tannus insert - which is fine, because it will never need to come off again until the tread is absolutely toast.

Grips mud like a snapping turtle ! 4 mm tall knobs . Decent trail tire , but as expected slower on pavement. That’s the trade off . Through several ruts you can feel the tire pack up then break loose and suddenly grab tight ! I ran 54 psi ( range is 40-65 psi ). . So far a good tire !

Very good off-road tire with better than expected on-road performance.Serfas claims "The Krest tire will tackle all terrains - hard pack, loose dirt, mud..." and after a few weeks of riding on these, I tend to agree. I frequently ride hard-pack and pavement, and for these surfaces a tire with a solid center rib will tend to perform better than the Krest. However, for hard surfaces, the ramped center lugs on these Krest tires seem to create a noticeable improvement, with respect to tires designed strictly for soft/loose surfaces. Off-road, the Krest lugs grab the roots/rocks and grip the dirt much better than any center rib tire that I've ridden. After only a few weeks, I can't assess the Serfas "flat protection system" claims. Besides, I mounted them over my thorn resistant tubes and tire liners.I ride a lot but I'm not a hard-core biker and I don't usually spend $30 for a tire. The cost is the only reason I didn't give 5 stars.

I put these tires on my 29er and have been very pleased with their performance. I was using a great tire with kevlar and never had a flat in over 4000 miles. But those tires are pretty expensive and I thought I'd try the Krest Tire with flat protection. The price is excellent and so far no flats in the month I have used them. I ride trails with thorns and rocks. Time and miles will tell how these hold up compared with the expensive tires I was using. But for now I am very happy with the tires. They do great in sand, rocks and etc. I haven't tried them in snow yet. :)Update: This summer (2012) I hit a patch of thorns and had many holes in the tube and a very flat tire! Not as thorn proof as my previous tires. I will go back to the kevlar tires.
