Been using for a month now, carried on my belt/bag. With bt linked to my phone it and GPS on it lasts just over 2 days between recharges. No issues with performance, so far it's working for short/medium range fine.

Easy to use right out of the box. Battery life is great. Built in GPS. Flashing Meshtastic can be a bit tricky, you have disconnect the charger rapidly twice.

The SenseCAP T1000-E GPS Tracker is a great option for those looking for a sleek, pre-built, Meshtastic device. To start, I must advise anyone looking at this product as a form of tracking device that one should first be very familiar with the Meshtastic system and understand its purpose and goals before considering their own personal use cases. What this is: This device is a pre-built, headless, sensor and radio within a credit-card sized water-resistant enclosure. Meshtastic devices are typically home-built combinations of processing boards and LORA radios often added to 3d-printed cases. They can be bulky for their use case and require quite bit of knowledge to construct. The SenseCAP T1000-E is a simplified all-in-one version of these devices in a convenient package that does not require hardware tinkering nor 3D-printing. The down side to this approach is that the internal antenna is significantly underpowered compared to other Meshstastic devices. That said, the convenience and simplicity of the form factor far outweigh that limitation when one considers the typical use case for such a device.Meshtastic allows one to set up custom ENCRYPTED channels. When other devices are added to the channel (the app even allows QR codes for easy adding of settings to friends' devices) then their position will show up on the map and text messages can be sent between. Since this is a "headless" device, when it receives a message, it can be configured to beep until the user uses their phone to access the Meshtastic app and view the messages which are then retrieved from the device.Out of the box, one needs significant familiarity with the Meshtastic system and it's associated software. I was unable to get both of my T1000-Es to communicate with one another out of the box and both required a firmware update through the Meshtastic website before they worked. I did discover that both devices had different firmware out of the box, so keep that in mind. Updating firmware wasn't very difficult, but does, again, require knowledge of Meshtastic and all of its various settings. In terms of use case, this device is best for allowing friends to track and communicate with one another out in nature, where cell service is spotty or missing. This is NOT the type of device that you would want to attach to a car or luggage for tracking as it completely relies on other Meshtastic devices being within range (roughly 1 mile or so for this model). In my case, I have exactly 1 other device anywhere near my location, and that is mine, so when testing in my car, I got a single GPS location a few feet from my house, and nothing ever again as I drove away. In terms of tracking, the device does not update position frequently enough to be used in a moving vehicle, even at the maximum update interval in Meshtastic, before the device is out of range of the network. If tested on foot, the devices work a lot better as it is unlikely you or your group will be miles apart when hiking or at outdoor concert venues. The GPS update frequency would be much more realistic for walking, especially outdoors or in a crowded city. Besides the update frequency, my one major gripe with the GPS is its inaccuracy. If the device was left stationary and configured for precise location, my location actually jumps by approximately 100 feet in a circle. One moment it thinks I'm in my backyard and a minute later thinks I'm in my neighbors front yard. The devices themselves are well built. The plastic enclosures are solid but flexible enough to allow the button to be pressed. I didn't dare test the water resistance claims, but visual inspection shows seals where one would expect them. The device is configurable as to how it notifies you upon receipt of messages, how/when the LED blinks and even the functions of the main button. I can see this holding up well when strapped to a hiking pack.Overall, for a pre-built device with a very specific use case, these are an excellent choice. They can be set up fairly easily between a group of friends to allow tracking and communications when there is little or no cell service. They would clearly excel in a hiking (no cell) or festival setting (congested cell network) where one would want to keep track of and stay in communication with friends/family. I would NOT recommend these as GPS trackers for people or devices, they are NOT at all something like an Apple AirTag.

I didn't want to like this product. I was hoping to try it out then return it. Thinking how a small device can do all that for $50.00. Must be junk another rip off right. Nope not at all. This was painfully easy to set up a few clicks and done. Great construction well made the battery lasts for days and the range is hard to fathom with the stock antenna. Im sold bought two so far. I take the cc size device everywhere i go. Its my favorite by far!!
