SeaStar SSC134xx Back Mount Rack Steering Cable
SeaStar Solutions Is the Standard
SeaStar Solutions (formerly Teleflex Marine) has set the standard with their Steering Cables in the Marine Industry by using Superior Design, Technology and Materials. Steering Cable SSC134xx is manufactured with a Rack and Pinion design to fit various helm space and application requirements.
All SeaStar Solutions' Steering Cables meet ABYC Safety Standards and ISO/IMCI/NMMA Certification Requirements. Note: SeaStar SSC134xx Steering Cables are for Single Station and Single Cable use Only.
SeaStar SSC134xx Replaces:
1996 and Newer (Black Cable Cover) SeaStar Solutions/Original Teleflex 'The Rack' (Back Mount) and Single Cable NFB Rack Steering.
Steering Cable SSC134xx is contained in the SeaStar Complete Back Mount Rack System Kits SS141 and SS151.
Note: This cable will not replace 1984 to 1996 SeaStar Solutions/Original Teleflex 'The Rack' (Rack and Pinion) Steering Cable. The Direct Replacement Cable for these systems is SSC124xx, however, Replacement of the Helm, Cable and Bezel System using SeaStar Solutions Kit SS141xx is Recommended for Inboards and Sterndrives. The SS151xx or SS152xx NFB Single and Dual Rack Steering Kits are Recommended for Single Outboard Applications.
Note for Ski Boats: Ideal Replacement for a Ski Boat is SSC154xx due to the Cable's Higher Performance and ability to provide Less Lost Motion.
Protected from Corrosion
Output Ends are constructed of Stainless Steel to provide Reliability and Durability for Corrosion Resistance.
Abrasion and Water Resistant
Outer jacket is constructed with HDPE, a high density polyethylene material that is Abrasion Resistant and provides a High Resistance to Water Penetration.

Bought the boat with a seized cable so I replaced it with this one and it lasted one season. Worked great all year, went to prep the boat for this season and the cable was seized. The fitting at the tilt tube had play on the sheathing with allowed salt water in. The nut was plenty tight on the tilt tube it had play where the nut pulls the cable to the tube. Whatever, ordered a new one and was going to take the extra measure and put sealant on the fittings and upon removal discovered this failure behind the helm. Already ordered a new one and the bass are biting so we will see how the next one does. Boats kept in a salt water water slip all season but is fresh water washed and rinsed after every trip.

Great replacement cable. Fit perfect. Installation is not so easy , but probably due to my configuration on a cuddly cabin boat. Take care not to damage the outer sheathing during install.
