Compré dos de estos. Me sorprendieron mucho.

I was surprised how much range this mic offers. It is also very lively, and doesn't need a preamp. It has a full low end like most/all ribbon mics, bit with a balanced top end. The finish is a nice touch.

I am employing this mic as a stage mic (V2 with phantom power) for various wind instruments and hand percussion. It seems so far that it's broad polar pattern, and relatively open directional design make it easier to play into than a classic vocal mic. It still seems to give a better result when instruments are played closely into it, but I have also tried it as a drum overhead for cymbals and toms, and felt that it worked.

I have had this microphone for one year. If you aren't sure about it, I can help you.1) Phantom power?Yes, it works fine under phantom power. Phantom power doesn't affect the sound quality at all if it's left on. So what they are advertising about that is correct.2) Sound quality? It's amazing, actually. This microphone is incredibly accurate. When I record my speech and play it back, it sounds from my headphones exactly how it did from my ears. It sounds like me. This microphone stands up to the ribbon mic standard of "sounding exactly like it should."3) Proximity effect? Radio voice? No problem. You might find *at first* that you don't like that the mic is so accurate, because it doesn't really give you that deep booming radio voice by getting close to it, like the large condenser microphones tend to. Here's the thing I learned recently though. You can get that effect digitally very easily in post-processing by using what's called EQ (equalization) and compression. You can get .vst plugins that can do this to your voice live. Most recording software supports VST, such as adobe audition, audacity, and even OBS (you can use them while streaming!). If you need it for Zoom calls or something, there's work-arounds using "virtual audio cables." There's guides for this kind of stuff all over YouTube. There's advantages to going this route too in that by not actually having to get close to the mic, you have less noticeable mouth noises.4) Is it sturdy?I was worried about this too at first, and was planning to only use the microphone on rare occasions, and otherwise store it in its box. After a few weeks, I got lazy and started using it for everything. It's fallen a few 3 foot drops onto carpet (thanks cats) and there's still nothing wrong with it. Ribbon microphones in general don't actually tend to be as fragile as people make them out to be. I watched a video of a guy with a different $100 ribbon mic, and he was tossing it out on his driveway, and the ribbon mic only broke after he tossed it like 30 feet into the air, as most mics would. It's fine. This thing isn't fragile.5) How about noise levels?I've recorded this directly up against the bell of my french horn. It's fine. Same as previous, don't worry too much about breaking it.Other notes:• The base of it is pretty wide/thick, so it takes a bit of effort to get it into the shock mount you see in the pictures.• It's pretty heavy, so you may need a mic stand with wide legs.

superb value mic to get a subtle ribbon sound that is useful in lots of applications. overheads, guitar - acoustic and electric, cajon - brilliant when paired with a PZM to add warmth to its crispness and a 57 on the front, and also great on vocals. Been using with a Fat man pre which makes it very warm but enough output to work with any of my pres or straight into the focusrite saffire. Paul White suggested I would be daft not to get one of these over lunch in the refectory - he thinks they might use the same/similar elements as the top end ribbons they do - or they are similar for a tenth of the price or whatever.
