I'm a big fan of Santic bib shorts/tights because their stuff fits me well for the most part and I understand their sizing. Their chamois placement is usually well suited for me and I'm comfy on their simpler (non-"4D") chamois models. On these bibs, the chamois is a little far forward and I might prefer if it were maybe 15-20mm further back for the site bones to be on the meat of the main part of the chamois rather than near the edge. I've had bad luck with their "4D" chamois in the past, but this one looks to be a different design, so hopefully it'll last a good long while, unlike previous incarnations that delaminated and bunched up terribly. In the past they've also used lock stitching to attach the chamois, but here they've used a zig zag stitch. I've had good luck with durability with both types of chamois attachment stitching across different brands,, but the zig zag just looks more fragile, so maybe it's just a perception thing. One thing to know about the size chart for this pair of shorts is that the measurements are for the garment itself, not the person wearing it. Previous Santic bibs have used height and weight charts to go along with body measurements and that worked great for me. For whatever reason they have dropped that and are showing measurements of the garment. I guess that might be OK if you have a favorite pair of bibs and take measurements off that garment.Another new feature is the bib straps--rather than a different, mesh material, and/or an extension of the main garment material all the way up and around the shoulders, these use wide, solid elastic straps. This looks like their variant on Assos's extra wide, suspenders-looking bib straps, maybe the Assos Reform bibs? I've seen those only in photos so I can't compare up close. The other new thing is the type of gripper on the legs--these are I guess a silicone printed honeycomb shaped material on a "raw edge" of the main bib material, no separate leg band of a different materialsewn onto the end, no elastic sewn onto the lycra, no seams around the leg band circumference at all. Very comfy and stay in place without curling (so far anyway) as I experienced on some of their other newer bib models that failed prematurely on me both in the chamois and leg band areas. The pocket is a nice, big rectangle, not a curvy trianguloid shape as on some of their other "cargo" bibs, and is a lycra patch pocket rather than mesh. I'm not sure if I prefer that yet--I suppose it looks more discreet, at least when empty, but it makes that area extra thick vs a mesh pocket. If this new 4D chamois lasts, the leg bands/raw edge stay strong rather than curling or stretching to failure with an errant big toe snagging the hem when pulling the shorts on, and the pocket doesn't prove to be a sweat/moisture trap, these bibs will be a winner and deserve an upgrade to five stars. Being a "4D" chamois and being slightly further forward than I'd prefer is enough for me to knock off a full star provisionally. Looking forward to seeing how these are after a thousand miles...maybe I'll end up buying five pairs like I did with their "colorblock" shorts with the simple chamois that have lasted me for years and thousands of miles with other parts of the bibs failing with no noticeable chamois deterioration.

These are well made bibs. I am a tall XL and the length of the leg is just not long enough. Other than that, the shorts are well made. If you are not tall and an XL it would probably be fine. Great value on these

I'm a 35+ year cyclist and I typically buy my cycling clothing from Rapha or Castelli now that La Passione has gone away. My view is that you get what you pay for and when I have time to ride, I want to ride as long as I can and have learned that good clothing facilitates that. All that said, I ordered these via Vine, so they were more or less free and I was curious what less expensive cycling clothing would be like. Well, in this case at least, it is pretty darn nice. The bib straps are truly some of the most comfortable I have ever worn. The chamois is comfortable and all of the materials feel nice. A few quirky things; there is a cargo pocket on the left leg only; not sure why just one but another way of looking at is that you can cram a lot of stuff into it so you would have to have a lot of stuff to need more room. I will say that as a right-handed person, if I can only have one, I'd prefer it be on the right leg. Also, the legs are bit shorter than the current style, probably about 1.5" than most of my other bibs. Not a bad thing, in some ways better maybe, at least your tan line will be higher up on your thigh :).Ok; so beyond some essentially subjective things, the bottom line here is that these are comfortable bibs that I will happily ride a lot of miles in. Time will tell how they hold up, but my initial impression is that they will last. At a cost of 1/5 or even less than a lot of premier brand bibs, you could certainly replace these more frequently and still spend less money in the long run. Santic has shifted my perspective on cycling clothing; give these a try, I don't think you'll regret it.

Honestly, this bib is higher quality than most I've tried in this price range ($38 at time of review). The sizing is pretty fair--I went with a medium and usually go for 28" in jeans. Not tight at all, but certainly not loose, and the bottom gripped the legs just fine. The shoulder straps are a little thin and not well reinforced... I wouldn't be shocked if that area is the first to fail. If the straps start to rip and fray, I'll just cut them off and use the bib as shorts (as I've done with other old bibs).I took it on a 40 mile ride, and it performed admirably. If you can't tell you're wearing a bib, that's the best result--and that was the case here. It did a good job of wicking sweat--I had no discomfort during or after the ride. The chamois is a bit thicker than I'm used to, but it fortunately sat close enough to the skin and isn't very rigid. I walked around some stores after the ride, and it didn't cause any issues.I always ride with shorts over, which greatly prolongs my bib lifespan. Unfortunately, it means I can't accurately gauge the durability of bibs unless they fall apart at the seams or rip... but even the most expensive ones suffer from that eventually. So far, I'm pleased with this bib, and will be adding it into my rotation.

Good set of cycling bibs, with nice gripper on the legs. The only thing I'm not sure of is the siding. They are listed as american small, Asian Medium. I am an american male (skinny) and the small is a little too loose for my liking. Frustrating that cycling clothing varies so much from one manufacturer to another.
