As a former arborist I can say this is very good quality and works great. If your experienced with handsaws or not be careful this thing is very sharp.

I had a Silky saw that broke that cost 3 times what this one did. I put this one through a full weekend of around 100 cuts of thick branches and small trees. Worked just as well!

Yes, this is an excellent saw....BUT....it is RAZOR SHARP. All it has to do is touch the skin and it can create a much deeper cut than just a scrape from a regular handsaw. It is very important to ALWAYS use heavy gloves, long sleeved shirts, and long pants, boots that at least cover the ankles. Use the scabbard it comes in, hang it from your belt, and use routinely to keep the sharp teeth away while doing any other work in the area, especially like yanking on brush to clear the path to a cut, while pulling on gloves, hauling/dragging cut brush, tossing heavy brush with two hands while still holding the saw.I have been using handsaws for 30 years, so this was a real surprise. I was pulling up a glove with my other hand, which slipped off the glove, and the teeth very lightly went across the inside of my wrist and made a 3"-long gash, right where there are blood vessels. Luckily it wasn't bad enough to cause a major problem. Also, when sawing downward to cut a branch in half, if that branch gives way at the end, and the saw gives way with it, it can go directly into the leg. If using two hands to throw the branch you just cut, keep your mind on where that saw is at all times. That said, it can accomplish way more than the traditional handsaws I've ever owned. The metal on this version of the saw is thick enough to put some strength behind some bulkier cuts and it hasn't buckled. The only thing to be prepared for is that the person cutting will produce so much stuff to haul, the person hauling will not be able to keep up. If you are the cutter/hauler, pace yourself. I cut enough brush in 40 mins to fill the back end of a pickup truck 3 times. It makes cutting almost effortless on soft wood, like coyote brush, pine and willow.I have a pole saw with this tooth pattern that is 3 years old, and maybe it could use sharpening, but it still cuts extremely well, has been used extensively . This is a tricky tooth pattern to sharpen, so be prepared to learn something new, or find someone who knows how to sharpen it. But the sharpness holds up extremely well, and doesn't need sharpening as often as a traditional tooth pattern.
