Good chair mat. Came with some double sided tape to keep it from moving, but I didn't use it. Overall it's got a fairly stiff feel to it that makes it easy to roll on and transitions between my area rug that's just a hair too large. Overall, I think this is a good chair mat.

I should’ve read the item description closely and noted that this mat is suitable only with hard floors, and not to be used with carpet. My use case, unfortunately, is on carpet. So I set out to Macguiver this.I currently have a fancy rug like chair mat that I bought from a big warehouse store that I really like. However, the dimensions of that mat is fairly small so my office chair easily rolls off the borders of the mat and I have the resulting struggle to pull the wheels off of the edge to repetition the chair onto the mat. Repeat that a dozen times during my typical 10-16 hour work day and you understand my frustration.I decided that since my issue is that the chair gets caught on the lip edges of the small mat, and this larger mat doesn’t have enough rigidity to use on carpet, that I should combine the two to see if that will help and sure enough, it does! While the chair wheels still get caught on the edge of the smaller mat, it isn’t bad difficult to dislodge and reposition the chair so my frustration is greatly reduced.For other potential Amazon purchasers, don’t make my mistake - take caution that this is a really thin mat that comes rolled up tightly in a 3” roll that is about 3 ft long so it cannot be used on carpet (as a mat)!So why the 3 stars - I’m rocking one star off for the extreme thinness of the material, which I find disappointing as it'll likely tear easily. Secondly, the mat comes tightly rolled, so it takes awhile to straighten out so I’m taking another star for that. This is the middle of winter season so I directed a heater to warm the mat up and then placed a few boxes to uncurl the edges. I understand the need to be efficient in packaging but note the need to do that before you can set this up.

I have hard wood floors in my office and I work from home. Over time I started to notice scratches on my floor from my wheels of my office chair. I broke down and purchased a clear floor mat. Unfortunately it was a complete pain in the rear. I have three dogs and their hair would get stuck under the clear mats which was a complete mess I couldn't stand the look of it. I literally couldn't go a week without cleaning it. The plastic clear mat was very bendable and didn't seem to stick to my floor as good as this one. I did have to take it out of the plastic covering and leave it with heavy items all around it to flatten it out for about a week before I used it under my office chair. I do love the look of it it actually just adds a little bit of style to my office instead of dirt. I can definitely say I will never go back to using a clear one again so if you are trying to decide which is best I promise you a black one is the way you need to go. A clear one you literally have to move your office desk at least once a week which becomes a pain.
