I installed the dimmer and it failed within 30 minutes. So I installed the second one since they come in pairs, the other one failed after 10 hours of use. I am an electrician this shouldn’t have happened it was under a very low voltage load.

They even came with an screw driver, for God's sake!Bought two extension cords, cut then as needed, since the dimmer has only two connections and I needed ground, had to cut short common and line, leaving ground longer soldered one end with the other, making sure ad a piece of striking tubing, as insulation (not that was really needed), connected the other two and voila, I had my two dimmed extension cord. Hope I was of some help.

I was not sure of the quality before ordering but surprisingly the build quality and performance of the dimmer meets my expectation. It works perfectly with the dimmable LED bulb on my desk lamp and the LED bulb dims down to the lowest level smoothly and there are no visible flickers. The transition from lowest to highest brightness is smooth and covers the entire range of the knob rotation.Also, there is a small variable resistor (potentiometer) on the PCB inside and you can trim it to achieve the lowest dimming, but be careful while adjusting the potentiometer as it is at live (mains voltage) and use only a ceramic or plastic screwdriver. If you do not have experience working with live electricity, do not try this step!!!
