The Rockler Deluxe Hold Down Clamp is a must-have accessory for any workshop...better still, get three or four. These simple, yet highly effective clamps work great on just about any T-track system. All of my T-tracks use 1/4"x20 bolts, so a quick swap out of the bolts and knobs and I was in business; I was aware of the need for hardware swap-out prior to purchase. The Rockler Deluxe Hold Down Clamp exerts more than enough pressure to keep the stock firmly in place, but the plastic tips prevent marring of the stock; to me this is a significant feature over other name brand hold down clamps. Not mentioned in the product description is the fact that the knob has a threaded brass insert for durability, as opposed to simple threaded plastic...that's a nice touch. These are perfect for holding stock in the . Again, you will need to replace the 5/16"x18 bolts and knobs with 1/4"x20 bolts and knobs.I can foresee eventual wear of the plastic tips (I am talking on the par of 5+ years of regular use), thus it would be nice if Rockler offered replacement tips for a nominal cost.

When setting up my shop, I knew I wanted a bunch of clamps & vises for holding my work in progress. I suppose the main reason is the little mis-hap I had trying to hold the work piece on a router clamped in a vise. The doctor would have given me stitches... if he had enough solid flesh to stitch to! So now, thanks to regeneration, I have 10 fingers again and clamp ALL my work to the table. These clamps, combined with the T-track embedded into your benchtop, are invaluable. Regular/quick clamps work great when your workpiece can be at the edge of the table, but now I have a way to hold the other side of the workpiece too! Padded ends grip the material well without marring it, and they easily adjust to accomodate different material thicknesses. The long, flat profile make them easy to keep out of the way of the tool.
