I'm really impressed by this vacuum, let me start off by saying. I've tested dozens of robot vacs from lots of name brands, from Yeedi and Narwhal to Shark and iRobot and Dreame, and many of their top models. This one certainly stands out in a lot of ways.Self cleaning is a feature on a lot of the top brands, but to get a -good- self cleaning function, before this vacuum, that feature working right would've cost you $900 from Shark or $1,200 from Dreame. This one cleans itself correctly, no spoiling water left in the pad, at a lower price point than any comparable model from a competitor. The angled side brush is a feature on most vacuums, with Dreame having taken that a step further and making a variable one that raises or lowers and to clean your baseboards, or a blower that adjusts to get dirt or pet hair out of cracks or the edges of walls like some high end models, and while this one doesn't do that, it does extend or retract as needed so it does not get in the way when it isn't being used, which I feel like is a nice feature that keeps it from tangling up cords or needing replaced before it actually wears out. It also doesn't fall off every six seconds like the new iRobot Essentials models do, or wear out in six weeks like the mid-priced Shark units do, and actually does its job well unlike all the off-brand robot vacs.Truly tangle-free brush rolls are hit and miss across the board for many brands with some saving it only For the highest end models, and others where the feature doesn't actually function as well as it could but they do include it on their lower and mid-priced models. The tangle-free brush roll on this unit works as advertised, my wife's hair is rather long and it's always wrapped around the brush roll of every vacuum I use or test at the end of the test, in this case one hair managed to wrap around the edge of the brush roll, not the brush roll itself, and was very easy to remove with no hairs trapped in the actual brush roll on the unit even after heavy use. The only other robot vacuum I've used that has worked that well is the $1,700 Dreame X50 Ultra, and at the time of writing this, this unit is about a third off that price. The drying feature is a nice added touch that shows up on some of the higher end units. Typically it works pretty well, and this one is no exception. There are no puddles or slicks left behind after using this unit, just as you'd expect! The mop feature works well with the dual pads moving in a circular pattern, not Just a single pad that the unit drags around, like some models, and they actually do a pretty good job of scrubbing on hard floors, giving you the option to set the intensity and the amount of water used in the process. As far as mapping goes, most brands are wildly different in which technology they use and how they go about mapping your floor. Some make you go around and cross off areas, some use an intuitive programming and cameras as well as the lasers to actually see and avoid objects, some bump into things intentionally and then work around them, some just use basic laser mapping and hope for the best; This one uses a bit of a combination, and while I was skeptical, it actually proved to do a really good job. It avoided most objects, didn't hit the ones it did bump into with enough force to cause any scuffing or paint transfers on the unit, and actually managed to avoid getting stuck in the areas of my house that almost every other unit has gotten stuck. Previous models in this same line have an adaptive AI obstacle avoidance model and a (kind of annoying) voice alert feature. It seems they removed those on this particular model in favor of a hardware obstacle avoidance system and no voice feature, I can't say I'm bothered at all by the change and I feel as though the system is all the better for it.Some units just don't do a wonderful job cleaning. Some do a passable job, but you'll still end up vacuuming before you ever put it to work and then every week or two after, and a couple I've used actually take over all of the cleaning with no complaints. This unit falls somewhere between the last two options, there. It takes over and does a good enough job I have very few complaints, but I can see myself having to clean those little problem areas once a month or so. The kind of things you'd be the only one to ever notice, you know? So, realistically, this thing does a good enough job to have surprise company show up any day of the week and have "Is the house clean?" not be on the list of worries at all. It does a job you can trust to be nearly perfect. Some brands have apps that are surprisingly intuitive, others have apps that frequently 'forget' their vacuum cleaner exists. Others have issues sending notifications when it matters, like that the vacuum is stuck. The app for this one is pretty good, has good connectivity and doesn't lose connection with the unit, is fairly easy to use and offers a wide array of control to the scheduling options and other things, such as how much water you want to use when it mops and how frequently. It's a nice touch that many other brands overlook. The capacity on all of the vacuums I've tested varies. Some of them use compression systems to pack in more dirt, some simply need emptied more, they've all got some gimmick but this one actually seems pretty straightforward. It holds a fairly respectable amount for a unit so small and when it empties itself it actually cleans out the entire dust bin with surprising results. It doesn't need to empty terribly often, and I have faith that you'd actually get the same day-count out of the bin that they claim. (E.g., '60 day capacity').All things considered this unit has almost all of the features of the highest end models other companies offer at an equal or lesser price than they do. How could it not be a good value for your money? While it may not last forever, nothing really does, I've got confidence you won't need another vacuum this decade for sure.

This is the fourth Roborock I have owned, and perhaps the 10th robot vacuum and/or mop from all brands put together over the last 15 years. I keep one on each floor, and my adult daughters have absconded with my first two Roborocks for their apartments. This is the most high end robot vacuum I've owned. Roborock stands out for its ease of use, effective cleaning and quality build and the Curve is no exception. It mapped the house quickly, and performs both vacuuming and mopping as expected. The only time I do anything by hand anymore is if we've had a huge spill (looking at you pot of chili & broken wine glass). And I touch up the corners and areas where the robot can't reach behind furniture, etc. from time to time, but not often. If you want to keep it simple, you can just push the start button and it will vacuum and mop your home with very little input from you. If you want to refine your experience you can set up and run a seemingly infinite number of routines for your home. I have a floor vacuuming only routine set up that returns the robot to the base to empty its dustbin after each room, and I have a hard floor mopping routine that mops each room in the order I choose and returns to wash the mops at the frequency I set. As with most Roborock Qrevo models, you can choose how frequently your mops are cleaned, how much water you want it to put down on the floor, how often you want it to vacuum and mop... I work from home so I just open the app and tap the button whenever I want it to do its thing, but scheduling automatic daily, twice daily, weekly cleaning is an easy option too. I do go around and pick up charging cords off the floor before running it. It mostly recognizes them but every so often it doesn't so I feel it's best to just double check. Other things like cat toys & etc, it seems to avoid alright without me picking them up. I have two rooms with carpet and the rest is hard wood with wool area rugs. I don't know how important suction power really is with robot vacuums, but I will say this one seems to do a great job on the carpeted areas and area rugs, which I can't say about some of the older non Roborock vacuums I've had. It's great with cat hair and people hair, and the unique brushes it uses are an upgrade over my previous models - less tangles and easier to clean. If you're looking for a high quality robot vacuum with features like this one has, I think you'll be very pleased with this robot.

We've had MANY robot vacuums over the past 15 yrs or so. Usually we bought Neato but they went under recently. Enter Roborock. The price point on this one is quite a bit higher than others we've owned but it's got a ton more intelligence and functionality. The base is big - like BIG. It's sorta like a cave for Roborock to sleep in - but it isn't just a charging station. The base has a bag to hold vacuumed-up debris and it has clean & dirty water reservoirs. It also heats the mop water and has a mechanical tray for cleaning the mop heads. If you have any doubts about the effectiveness of the mop, all you have to do is check out the dirty mop water .The cleaning unit has a lot of nice features. It auto-detects the surface type and applies the correct function - brushes & suction for carpet, suction + mop for other surfaces. When on carpet, the mop heads retract to keep the carpet dry.It does a great job cleaning. The vacuum is better than any unit we've had in the past. Great suction - does as good at pet hair as some pet-hair-specific units we've had. Also good for all kinds of other debris. It has a spinning edge brush to get corners. It has 2 spinning mop heads which use hot water so it dries in less than a minute.1 of the mop heads extends out to ensure good coverage next to obstacles. It's actually a lot if fun to watch. At set intervals it will return to the base to wash the mop heads and refill it's internal reservoir. It also tells you what it's doing which is fun. "Going to wash the mop".Navigation and the app are where this thing shines. We had to rescue our old vacuums on the daily. This guy has only gotten lost once so far. It is gentle around obstacles. It has obstacle avoidance, but I've seen it run into stuff - it just collides softly. Our Roomba tries to push chairs across the floor, so this is a nice change. If you watch in the app when first run it, you can see floor map populate in real time which is amazing. The sensors are head and shoulders above any other unit we've had and the map detail is very cool.Unlike other brands, the app is almost critical to have for this unit. You can customize all kinds of settings in there like carpet behavior, mop cleaning frequency, voice language, etc. Most important is setting up the map. Once you've run it, you'll have a map of the floor. Here you can partition off rooms and name them - and also specify the cleaning treatment for each room. It sounds like a lot, but it's not too tough. After you've done this you can have it clean specific areas by name using specific treatment. It can store maps of several floors, so no worries about moving it around.Ok there are some things that could be better...1.The Alexa/google integration works but it's just meh. Basically all you can do is start the default routine and stop it.2.Doing anything besides the default routine (vacuum all carpets and mop all other surfaces) requires you to set up an alternate routine in the app. So if you just want to vacuum everything, you'll need to build that routine. That aside, we're pretty wow'd by this thing. Assuming the longevity is good, I don't think we'll be going back to any other brand. It's well worth the price point.

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION – roborock Qrevo Curv S5X Robot Vacuum and Mop, 17000Pa Suction, Zero-Tangling Design, FlexiArm Side Brush & Mop, Smart Obstacle Avoidance, Self-Washing & Drying, Self-Emptying, Perfect for CarpetPERFORMANCE – Roborock has entered to robo vac market as a heavy hitter. In brevity, all models of current status are top, shelf you will not lose, all are top of the list. The interesting thing that has arose that the Qrevo Edge and Curve have been close in sales but the two units are near identical with the only difference being styles in docking station and the Edge being priced higher. I recommend before purchasing any these two Roborock models, compare price with the Curve model. Roborock always a quality purchase.UNBIASED - Amazon Vine reviewers are not paid for reviews, be it positive or negative. I will never recommend a product I would not buy myself. I treat ALL vendors with respect and fairness but my duty is to You, the Amazon customer. I am an Amazon customer too. I have every reason to be sincere in my reviews. If it is junk or treasure my reviews will reflect the products, I give my word of honor. I don’t want any reviews of mine to read like an ad but anyone who has written reviews knows, it is hard to not get sucked into writing in that style, if it is a great product and most are, then we are so enthused about the products and want to scream it to everyone, “Hey, this is a great product”. So in my view, that is why some reviews may sound like ads.I want to say, I encourage you as an interested customer, to ask me questions about the product and I will do my very best to answer each and every one of you. Amazon reviewers can write our views anyway we feel about any product; all we wish to do is help.A reviewer on a social platform often states, “He does not trust Amazon Reviews”. The gentleman is a great reviewer and makes very high quality content, however in this case I disagree strongly. Amazon reviews are dependable and useful. However, use common sense the lower the number of reviews the less accurate the score is. Products that are “Amazon Choice” have always been a winning selection for me. The Amazon review scoring system, lets you know what customers and reviewers like and dislike about the product you are considering purchasing.I cannot state this enough but Amazon Vine reviewers have no reason or encouragement to favor or disfavor any product. Reviews are not edited by Amazon, unless they violate community policy, for example profanity etc., Amazon does not edit reviewers. The comment about Amazon reviews being questionable is somewhat debatable. I assume the comment made by the non-Amazon reviewer is referring to Amazon Vine reviews. I can’t speak for no one but myself, but if the day would ever come that I thought I was obligated to writing ads, I would move on. Amazon knows the value of customer satisfaction and wants to weed out any products that do not live up to advertising claims. Again if you have a question, please let me help.

First thing that really bears mentioning up front - **this is a previous-generation model.** The current generation (Q series, specifically the Q5 which replaces the S5 or S5X) has a few more or refined features. Now then. Probably somewhat controversially, I do view this product as being a bit, I dunno, "more" than iRobot. There are some nits here and there but generally I think it's great and a reasonable alternative. Consider this as purchasing a car that's two/three years old. Compared to the current model it's going to be missing some things, but it's close enough depending on use cases. Now keep in mind this is what I call a "maintenance" item. By that I mean it's not something that you run once a week and will take the place of a cleaning service. It's designed to run once/day and take care of the minor daily detritus that collects on the floor. It's not going to handle a big stain/mess very well if at all.Another consideration - this is both vacuum and mop. Mind the deployment. It's smart enough to know if it's on carpet or flooring (mopping carpet is a bit frustrating...) but dock placement may govern a few things. So with all of that in mind, I found myself quite satisfied with this item. Obstacle avoidance worked as expected (I suspect it uses LIDAR) and it covered an entire room efficiently. The dock that cleans out the bin and refills the tank as needed. When either things are required mid-job, this navigates back to the dock. Again and definitely bears repeating...the onboard capacity for the mopping solution IS limited, so know that this is for maintenance ONLY. I love the brush-drying feature of the dock and that it heats water for the cleaning. For me the app...needs a little work. UI/UX is a hobby of mine and I found flow and such a bit perfunctory. It's required for setup and efficient use, so it's just that I wish it were easier to use. My opinion as UI/UX can be really subjective. Anyway, this means one must use the proprietary app which, as a HomeKit guy, bugs me. Siri Shortcuts annoy me...Speaking of which...smart home integration. This is supposed to use Matter, however I'm not seeing it. It sounds like it's part of an update, but my home isn't seeing it. Takeaway there is that despite the use of Matter it's not really plug and play for the smart home. Definitely on the fussy side, at least for me.Again though, this is a previous generation model. Some of these criticisms may sound unfair, but then since the Q5 exists and the S5 here is still for sale, it makes sense to compare the two.To wrap this up...it works well, does what it's designed to do in an efficient and effective manner, and has some features that frankly I love (brush lifting, surface detection, etc). If pressed I'd say that this is on a par with iRobot but for me personally, I don't know that I'd be ready to replace Rosie the Roomba. YMMV of course, but having this to mop/vacuum daily is a pretty good thing to have. I like it.
