I used this product to build a custom enclosure for a Wifi router, to use it outdoor.The RF45 cables plug well into it and stay connected properly. There is an optional waterproof/dustproof rubber cover that you can choose to add to protect empty connectors. I wouldn't say it's completely waterproof but it makes it somewhat splashproof and definitely dustproof.I found that you need to make a 23mm hole. Be aware the lip around the connector that holds it in place over the hole is not very big, so you do not have a lot of margin here. If you have access to a CNC or laser cutter to make that hole, that's better. By hand, you can, but make sure to use a hole saw of the right diameter. The hole saw does not come with this product unfortunately, which I feel is acceptable at this price (although the seller could have added another product variation with the hole saw provided for a few dollars more?)The RJ45 connectors are stamped CAT6. I have no ways to verify if they are actually CAT6, but at least the intent is there from the manufacturer, to respect some standard.The plastic seems sturdy, it can handle some basic shocks and rigor of daily life.Overall this is a good set of RJ45 panel connectors. Worked well for my application. I was able to run POE without any issue, too.
